Royal Enfield Sold Bikes Like Cold Lemonade On A Hot Summer Day

Royal Enfield managed to sell more Classic 350s than some of the 110cc bikes!

The temperature is blazing hot, and you’re drenched from head to toe in sweat. The nearby juice stall seems like a sight for sore eyes, and you immediately head there and buy yourself a cold bottle of nimbu paani (lemonade). That’s exactly how the Indian audience seem to have reacted to Royal Enfield bikes in the previous financial year.

Despite the motorcycle segment undergoing multiple setbacks (read inflation, job market issues, and consequences of global events), with an overall sales figure of over 8 lakh units in just a year, bikes have been flying off Royal Enfield’s showroom floors and how!

The sales numbers are as per SIAM (Society Of Indian Automobile Manufacturers) data for the year FY 2024-25.

Classic 350

The Royal Enfield Classic 350 is the highest-selling Royal Enfield motorcycle in FY 2024-25 (April 1, 2024 to March 31, 2025). The famed Classic 350 witnessed a YoY (Year on Year) growth of 8.42%. While the number might not seem big enough, the sales figure is more than some 100-110cc commuter motorcycles.

This shows how popular the Classic 350 has been, especially with its smooth and reliable J-series engine. Royal Enfield launched the 2024 version of the Classic 350 in August, which would have also played a big role in getting the sales numbers up.

Hunter 350

The Hunter 350 is the lightest and most affordable Royal Enfield you can get your hands on, today in India. This might just be the case as to why it is such a popular model, especially among first-time buyers and the younger audience.

The Hunter is also the entry point into the Royal Enfield brand, which helps the manufacturer sell the motorcycle in large numbers. The bike witnessed a YOY growth of 4.87% compared to the previous financial year. Expect the sales to improve even further this year as the updated Hunter 350 is all set to launch tomorrow

Bullet 350

The iconic Bullet 350 has been a fan favourite for as long as we can remember, and it still is. This is clearly evident as the sales figure of the Bullet 350 has just gone up by 19.53% in FY 2024-25 as compared to the previous FY. One of the reasons for the big surge in sales could be the introduction of the Battalion Black colour variant that was launched last year. The new colour variant has a similar badging on its side panel and the fuel tank as the OG Bullet 350, making it even more appealing.

Meteor 350

The Meteor 350 was the first motorcycle to be built on the J-series platform and is a very agile motorcycle for its class. It has a very relaxed riding posture and is also the highest-selling cruiser motorcycle in India, outselling the most affordable cruisers in India, the Bajaj Avenger 160 and Avenger 220 put together. The sales figure witnessed a YoY growth of 3.23% compared to the previous financial year.

The Meteor is ideal for those who want a relaxed highway mile-muncher that can thump away endlessly (now without rider fatigue, thanks to the refined engine).

Himalayan 450

The Himalayan 450 was Royal Enfield’s first motorcycle to be made on the Sherpa 450 platform. It has a punchy motor and a suspension setup which is unmatched by its rivals, but the popularity of the bike is dwindling, which is evident through its sales figures. The manufacturer witnessed a decline in YoY sales figures by 29.67% compared to last year. The decline in the sales figure might be due to the 2025 KTM 390 Adventure series that turned the tide in its favour when it was launched in February 2025.

Guerrilla 450

The Guerrilla 450, a roadster based on the same platform as the Himalayan 450, was launched last year, which is why we don’t have a YoY difference. Even though it was a bit late to the party, it tallied 10,327 units which is pretty decent compared to the Triumph 400’s  36,545 units sold in FY 2024-25.

650 Twin

The 650 Twin consists of three motorcycles – the Interceptor 650, Bear 650, and the Continental GT 650. The Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650 were the first bikes from Royal Enfield to receive the 648cc parallel-twin engine, followed by the Bear 650 last year. With a YoY growth of a massive 50.62 %, Royal Enfield just proved that big bikes can go mainstream. With the launch of the Bear 650 in November 2024, expect the next FY’s sales numbers to go up even further as it’s the only trail-friendly 650cc motorcycle from the brand.

Super Meteor 650

The Super Meteor 650 is the manufacturer’s most expensive motorcycle on sale in India. It shares the same engine as the 650 Twins, but has a different chassis, which gives the bike a proper cruiser look. The sales figure of the Super Meteor 650 has gone down by 7.25% YoY. While the decline is not much, we think it's due to the bike’s stiff ride quality. Sure, this makes the Super Meteor 650 an excellent highway cruiser, but in the city, especially on our Indian road conditions, the cruiser won’t be forgiving for your back.

Shotgun 650

The Shotgun 650 is a bobber which is based on the same platform as the Super Meteor 650. It is the only bobber motorcycle you can buy in this segment and at this price point in India. With the Shotgun being a very niche product, Royal Enfield managed to sell 2,372 units in the FY 2024-25. This is still a commendable figure as the Shotgun is also meant to be a motorcycle which you can customise according to your liking.

Summing up, while Royal Enfield’s 350cc range is prancing at a steady pace, expect the sales of the 650cc range to go up even higher as now the Classic 650 has been launched. It’s the only heritage-themed motorcycle in the 650cc segment in India. With the Classic 350’s legacy in a much more powerful engine platform, the overall sales will only dug-dug its way to glory.
