Ather’s affordable electric scooter teased ahead of its launch on August 29
It will be based on the EL01 platform
Expected to be priced around Rs 1 lakh to Rs 1.25 lakh (ex-showroom)

Ather is all set to launch its brand new affordable electric scooter on Ather Community Day on August 29. It will be based on the EL01 platform. The company’s CEO, Tarun Mehta, has confirmed it through a post on X (formerly Twitter), where he shared a photo of the scooter on its production line.
This 29th August, at Ather Community Day, we’ll be launching our mass-market scooter built on our brand new scooter platform.

While there has been no official confirmation on the specifications of the scooter yet, from the image shared, we can see a telescopic fork and a monoshock. The EL platform is also expected to support batteries ranging from 2 kWh to 5 kWh and will get a motor similar to the Ather 450 series, but tuned for a smoother and more friendly power delivery.

The scooter will get a TFT console with Bluetooth connectivity for navigation and call/SMS alerts. It is also expected to get hill hold assist, reverse mode and AtherStack 7 operating system with features like voice commands, pothole alerts and crash alerts. Ather is also expected to equip the scooter with Advanced Electrical Braking System (AEBS), which will combine the scooter’s regenerative braking and conventional braking system for improved braking performance.
We expect the Ather EL01 to be priced between Rs 1 lakh and Rs 1.25 lakh (ex-showroom). Upon launch, it will rival the likes of the Bajaj Chetak C2501, TVS Orbiter and Vida VX2.
