Quick news highlights:
The Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 Rally has been spied on at the EICMA 2024, just before its global unveil. The spied bike was fully loaded with all the rally kit accessories from Royal Enfield and has been spied the first time in this avatar.
The Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 Rally kit includes a lot of accessories including a flat seat, knuckle guards, a different handlebar, a different tail section, a headlight grille, a different exhaust and more. The Rally kit makes the Himalayan look more rugged and enhances its touring capabilities as well as practicality.

At the front, the Himalayan 450 Rally has a taller windscreen and headlight grill. It also gets a wider and taller handlebar (with risers). The bike also has full-length knuckle guards which are not only for design but are functional too, as they come with an aluminium brace for added protection. The Rally kit also brings a radiator guard and a bigger, chunkier and a more robust engine guard which also works as a bash plate.
At the rear, it features a single-piece flat rally seat, which enhances off-road capabilities and makes it easier to grip the seat and tank while standing on the bike. The rally seat also increases the seat height by 30mm. For perspective, the split seat on the Himalayan 450 is 835mm and the rally seat makes it 855mm.

While we can’t see the exhaust in the spy shot, the bike is likely to have a custom exhaust from Royal Enfield. The manufacturer earlier said that the Himalayan rally kit will have an Arrow custom exhaust, but it isn’t planned to arrive in India. But, a Himalayan 450 was recently spied with a Royal Enfield branded custom exhaust with a new end can. It is likely the one which we will get with the Rally kit in India. We don’t yet know if the exhaust will boost the bike’s performance; we’ll need to wait for the official specs to find out.
The engine and underpinnings will remain the same on the Himalayan 450 Rally kit. It will get the same 452cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder ‘Sherpa’ engine that produces 40PS and 40Nm. The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox, with a slip-and-assist clutch as standard.
The Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 Rally is likely to be unveiled at the EICMA 2024 in Milan, Italy. The bike is expected to get a significant price increase of between Rs 20,000 to Rs 30,000 over the standard Himalayan 450, which starts at Rs 2,85,000 (ex-showroom Delhi).
