BMW Motorrad recently teased the launch timeline for the F 450 GS through an Instagram post. The brand put up an image carousel with the caption “Dreams are coming true soon - prepare for the #ConceptF 450GS at the end of the year.” It is likely that the bikemaker will unveil the production-ready version by the end of the year, possibly at EICMA. The price revelation and deliveries are expected to commence in early 2026.

BMW unveiled the F 450 GS concept at EICMA 2024. Although the showcased model was a concept, it still impressed us with its aggressive styling, sharp body panels, and looked fairly production-ready. It clearly has the design inspiration from the bigger 1300 GS.

Powering the F 450 GS is going to be a 450cc parallel-twin motor with 48PS. And as for the weight, BMW states that the motorcycle will weigh around 175kg. Expect it to be refined thanks to the twin-cylinder layout. More importantly, it should be able to sustain higher cruising speeds than the BMW G 310 GS because of the bigger engine complete with an extra cylinder.

Being a GS, the motorcycle will come equipped with long travel suspension which will help it in defining its adventure tourer credentials. The motorcycle will also get a 19-inch front and a 17-inch rear wheel which could be cross-spokes or alloys. Expect the ground clearance to be abundant, while ensuring a fairly accessible seat height. Not much technical details have been revealed but it is only a matter of time.

Though the motorcycle showcased at EICMA was a concept, its design elements were fairly grounded in terms of practicality, so expect the production version to look more or less the same as the concept bike. TVS will be the one manufacturing the F 450 GS for BMW in India at its Hosur facility.
The BMW F 450 GS is expected to be priced at around Rs 5 lakh (ex-showroom). Sure, that sounds expensive, but that’s the price you’ll probably have to pay for the premium badging. The premium pricing structure is evident in the 310 range too. Once launched, it will compete with the KTM 390 Adventure, Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, Honda NX 500 and the upcoming Hero XPulse 421.
