No, you wouldn't face such an issue. As the engine is generating a 120PS turbo-petrol engine. Refinement levels are impressive. This engine is quick to rev and offers impressive acceleration. City driveability is good with the DCT keeping you in the turbo range, so you don\'t struggle for power. Gear shifts are seamless and barely noticeable in day-to-day driving. However, when racing against the clock, the shifts feel a bit laidback. Overall, this engine needs to be reserved for someone looking for a particularly sporty drivetrain. Otherwise, paying that premium will pinch. This is also true because of its slightly stiffer suspension setup, which we will discuss in a later section. Also driving an iMT transmission is easy. Not only that, in the real world not having to use a clutch means you will end up in the right gear at the right time more often, which could even give you a slight advantage over a regular manual transmission. Yes, the new Hyundai i20 offers a spacious cabin with ample leg and head-room. Even with the all-black interior, there’s a good sense of space at the rear, due credit to the wide glass area, including the rear quarter glass. Moreover, with a scooped-out roof liner even taller occupants have usable headroom. For a better understanding of cabin space and driving comfort, we would suggest you to take a test ride. Selecting the right fuel type depends on your utility and the average running of the car. If you drive less than 50km in a day then we recommend you to go with a petrol car as they are easy to maintain, have a longer life span and they cost less initially than the diesel car. On the other hand, diesel cars are preferred if the average daily run is more than 50km which makes it a feasible purchase. As per your requirements, we would suggest you to go with the turbo-petrol iMT combination. In an iMT, just like in a manual transmission, an actuator takes care of engaging and disengaging the clutch whenever required, based on a sensor built into the gear shifter. This technology is very new to the Indian market and is only available in cars like the Hyundai i20 and Venue, and the Kia Sonet. Moreover, we would suggest you to take a test drive before making the final decision. Follow the link and select your desired city for dealership.

Definitely the i20 is up-priced than the altroz so it will offer more features. The altroz is a value for money. The altroz is the best choice for indian conditions. I don't know why people hihglight about its 3 cylinders when the NVH is not that much which will really annoy you or decrease your driving pleasure and comfort. The altroz offers some best in class features. Every car has advantages and disadvantages, no car is perfect. At the end of the day its SAFETY which decides everything, and altroz is the safest hatchback in the Indian market.
Altroz will not stop production until the new i20 is released. So rather wait and test drive both. Everyone gives their own opinion, end of the day it's your money. Do what your heart says. All premium hatchback more or less have same performance. I have driven elite i20, altroz and baleno. Altroz has a better corner handling. I20 is a cool car. You have 1 litre turbo coming in i20. You have the money go for it.
No issue in waiting. but TATA is already proved their 5 STAR safety RATINGS whereas i 20 yet to prove. If safety is not your priority, then wait. If safety is top priority then Book Altroz imm as waiting period is almost 2 months... Go for safety for car as well as your FAMILY.... Cheers !!

Hyundai i20 2020 is available with three engine options: a 1.2-litre Petrol, a 1.0-litre Turbo Petrol and a 1.5-litre Diesel engine. The premium hatchback gets a CVT/IVT transmission paired with the 1.2-litre petrol engine. The IVT (intelligent variable transmission) is very similar to the CVT and performs continuous shifts to provide superior efficiency over automatic transmissions.
Yes, CVT provides excellent fuel efficiency in city traffic plus it is less tiring as well.
Is ivt transmission reliable for heavy bumper to bumper city traffic and on steep grades?
