That said, it is still one of the most affordable long-range EVs in the market. Tata Motors had earlier even slashed its subscription prices, making it easier to rent the Nexon EV.
The Nexon EV is also fun-to-drive, thanks to the instantaneous response from the 129PS/245Nm electric motor. It draws power from a 30.2kWh battery pack and offers an ARAI-claimed range of 312km. It also supports fast charging and can be juiced up from 0-80 percent in an hour.
The Nexon EV still doesn’t have any direct rivals in the country but it locks horns with the Hyundai Kona Electric and MG ZS EV. In fact, It is around Rs 7 lakh cheaper than the MG and Hyundai. It will soon face competition from the Mahindra XUV300 Electric.
