Apart from the addition of new colours, there have been no other changes

The Bajaj Pulsar family hasn’t received any update apart from meeting the new BS6 emission norms and a corresponding price hike in 2020. With two-wheeler sales witnessing a revival and the festive season approaching, Bajaj has introduced new colour options to refresh the Bajaj Pulsar NS 160, Pulsar NS 200 and the Pulsar RS 200. The bikes are now also available in Burnt Red (matte finish) and Plasma Blue (satin finish) with white alloy wheels. Apart from the new colours, the new Pulsars also feature carbon-fibre texture on the front mudguard as well as a new seat cover.

The 2020 Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 with dual-channel ABS retails for Rs 1,52,179 and its streetfighter sibling carries a sticker price of Rs 1,31,219. The youngest member in the Pulsar NS family, the NS 160, is priced at Rs 1,31,219 (all prices, ex-showroom-Delhi). No mechanical changes or feature additions have been made to the Pulsars.

While the new colours might help Bajaj in pushing sales for the NS and RS range, for now, the Indian two-wheeler giant will have to do much more to revive the iconic Pulsar badge. The TVS Apache RTR 200 4V debuted almost half a decade after the Pulsar NS 200 and it has received two updates in the past two years. Hero has upped the ante with the Xtreme 160R and Honda recently got the Hornet 2.0. We had expected the new 250cc motor to debut with an all-new Pulsar 250, but the focus has shifted to the Dominar range. The Bajaj Pulsar badge has a special place among Indian two-wheeler enthusiasts and we hope the next-gen Pulsars debut in 2021.
