Quick Highlights:
Royal Enfield’s first electric bike has been spotted testing
Looks quite similar to the concept model showcased a few months back
Battery and motor specs have been kept under wraps by the manufacturer
It’s no secret that Royal Enfield has been wanting to enter the ever-growing and popular electric motorcycle segment. The manufacturer showcased their first-ever electric motorcycle, the Flying Flea C6, in India a few months back, and was spied for the first time. Seeing the bike with spotlights, carpets and ribbons is one thing, but witnessing it pottering around on public roads is a wholly different experience to behold, especially for something as unique looking as the Flying Flea. If a layman who is not aware of the motorcycle sees the Flying Flea, they’d think it’s practically a vintage motorcycle.

While the overall silhouette of the Royal Enfield Flying Flea C6 looks the same as the model showcased in India, there is a small difference. The model that was spied testing, has a split dual-seat setup, unlike the rider-only seat on the model showcased. Obviously, Royal Enfield has practicality in mind, so it’s not surprising that the production-spec version will come with a pillion seat.
Apart from this small change, the rest of the bike looks the same. What’s more interesting is that the spied model continues with the girder fork setup, which is a rarity in modern times. The reason is that they are harder to manufacture, and cost a lot compared to a conventional telescopic fork which is found on other Royal Enfield bikes.

Royal Enfield has not revealed the battery and motor specs of the Flying Flea C6, but we think it will deliver a similar level of performance as a 125-150cc petrol-powered motorcycle. With exotic materials such as a forged aluminium frame, girder fork and magnesium battery casing, the Flying Flea is far more than a simple eco-friendly commuter. It will be more of a lifestyle-oriented product, similar to that of the BMW CE 02 electric bike. This is also evident with the design language of the bike, as it is made to look similar to its World War-era forefather, the original Flying Flea 125.
We expect the production-spec Flying Flea to have multiple colour options and Royal Enfield might allow customers to choose custom colours. Unlike a mass-market two-wheeler, this one is a niche product that’s meant to showcase Royal Enfield’s technological prowess - a glimpse of what the future can be. Consequently, the bad news is that the pricing is also going to be premium. The Flying Flea is expected to launch in India by March 2026, and could be priced at Rs 4.5 lakh (ex-showroom). It will be followed by a scrambler-style electric motorcycle, Flying Flea S6, which would be based on the same platform as the electric roadster.
