KTM India has revealed the specs of the 2025 390 Enduro R, which will be launched soon. But it seems the India-spec bike is slightly different from the international-spec model. However, that’s not a bad thing at all.

Most of the specs on the India-spec 390 Enduro R are the same as the international-spec model. However, KTM India has given the Enduro different suspension – one from the 2025 390 Adventure. Which has brought down the wheel travel by 30mm at both ends. But that begs the question – where’s the R bro? You see, internationally, having the R suffix after a KTM model name, especially for off-road bikes, means having longer travel suspension for more offroadability. Which means, for all intents and purposes, KTM India has made a KTM 390 Enduro (without the R).
By Indianizing the bike, the seat height has dropped by 30mm, the ground clearance has reduced by about 19mm, and the wheelbase has reduced by 5mm. However, the dry weight has gone up by 11kg (since the international spec bike doesn’t have engine crash guards (as standard), the saree guard, pillion grab rails, and other mandatory bits).
But not all of that is bad. Internationally, the bike has a tall seat height of 890mm, which would have put this bike out of contention for most average Indian buyers. By reducing the seat height, it has become that much more accessible for many average-heighted Indians. It would also make the bike easier to handle and ride off-road for relatively new enduro enthusiasts. But for a bike made based on the averages of the market, there’s nothing essentially wrong with the Enduro that will be here. At least KTM has increased the chances of more people buying the bike.
The Enduro segment is quite new in India and not a lot of people are avid enduro riders. By making the bike accessible, KTM India has also given the segment a chance to grow. And eventually, if it grows substantially, we could also see the bigger orange enduros in India as well. The 2025 KTM 390 Enduro R launch will happen on April 11, and it's expected to be positioned under the 390 Adventure.
