Maruti Suzuki has launched the 2020 Vitara Brezza in India with a BS6 petrol engine. The Vitara Brezza now comes with a 1.5-liter petrol engine that develops 105PS and 138Nm. Two transmission options are available: a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed torque converter.
The facelifted Vitara Brezza comes with a BS6-compliant 1.5-liter petrol unit. This new engine puts out 105PS of power and 138Nm of torque. It comes mated to either a 5-speed manual transmission option or a 4-speed AT gearbox.
Maruti Vitara Brezza 2020 will get the Ciaz’s 1.5-litre petrol engine that makes 105PS and 138Nm, 15PS more but 62Nm less than the older diesel engine. The brand hasn't shared the mileage of Vitara Brezza 2020 yet.
Since Maruti will not be offering any diesel engines on the smaller, price-sensitive models like the Vitara Brezza, the carmaker will be offering CNG variants for the extra fuel efficiency. The 1.5-litre BS6 petrol-CNG motor in the Ertiga MPV has an output of 92PS and 122Nm with a claimed efficiency of 26km/kg. The smaller Vitara Brezza would likely be more frugal but is expected to only be available with a manual gearbox. But, for the final confirmation, we have to wait for the official announcement.
Maruti announced that it won’t be offering any models with diesel engines from 1 April 2020 onward after the BS6 norms comes in action. So, there won't be any diesel engine available in coming future. Moreover, the facelifted SUV comes with a BS6-compliant 1.5-litre petrol unit. The current version of Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza is available in petrol version only manual as well as automatic transmission.
