Q. Which one is better between Royal Enfield Classic 350 and Thunderbird 350?
4.2K Views Follow Question Add Answer427 AnswersSunil | 4 years agoLet's compare few aspects of the two bikes.Pricing considering the prices, tb is costlier then classic at same cc. This gives an idea that RE consider or spend on tb more thn classic. The quality of material used in the tb is costlier then classic.Engine i have been told by everyone that the engine of both the machines are same. They offer same power and they don't have nay difference. Personally, i found tb engine different then classic. Where people have always been complaining about flase neutral gear in tb, never heard a serious problem in classic.Posture considering tb as a cruiser will be wrong. It is also a commuter with high handlebars. People have suggested that the posture of tb is better then as compare to classic. I have found no problem riding both the bikes. People buy classic and change the handle bar to a longer handle bar and get the same comfortable posture as per your requirement. However, i have also heard a lot of people complaining back problem. Personally didn't found any such problem. Rode continuously around for 150-200km (Mumbai to pune with small 2-3 tea breaks) on tb, didn't found such problem.Handling i found classic to be more comfortable in city or on turning thn tb. The tb has smaller radius as per company, so it should not give any trouble in the city as well. Don't take me wrong, but I m not saying that tb has problems in the city, it is just less fun.Weight tb is heavier thn classic by 10kgs. Yea, but i don't think it will make any big difference. Considering classic is 185kg ans tb is 195 kg, both the bikes are heavy. It shouldn't be a deciding factor. The plus points in tb the semi electronic system on tb is very helpful. For eg. The petrol indicator, the rpm indicaor, trip meter etc. The tb has so called projector lights, which are not sufficient but still better thn the one provided in classic. The rear disc breaks are not sufficient but better then classic. So which one to go for? I will give you a very practical advice. Now a days you get the bikes on rent around 1000-1500 per day. Plan a short trips like 100-150kms. Take tb on rent for one weekend and classic on another weekend. Understand the logic for above said things. Check what are you comfortable with. Investing in bike is a big decision .
Krishan | 4 years agoIf you think for touring purpose definitely Thunderbird 350 or you are daily commuter and covered more than 100km.Classic have their strong existence in market due to old school look. Truly appreciate the Royal Enfield to build classic but if you ride more than 100km on highway, you must have strong spinal system, as after riding you feel back pain due to double spring system on seat as well as bike. when you ride more than at the speed of 80km/hrs, seat continue vibrates and may impact your nervous system. Thunderbird 350 less appearance in the market but truly riding experience much higher than the other Royal Enfield bike. You can enjoy your weekend riding as well as daily commute with this beast, less vibration than classic 350, seating posture also very good that means you never tiered, if you ride more than 100km.Comparison to engine: both having same engine bit change in rpm settings for pickup.
Aditya | 4 years agoRE Classic 350. In every terms,it feels much better. It feels royal and feels like yes you arent riding some day to day commuters. Thunderbird 350 is just a styled 350 and don't even have a after sale handsome evaluation. RE Classic though quite retro gets everything you want. And ofcourse, Modification can make it better than RE Thunderbird 350.
Pavel | 4 years agoIf you have a shorter height like below 5:6 then Thunderbird if you are heavy and have back issues the classic as tbts have very upright sitting posture can aggravate the back pain if have to ride for more then an hour or so in any other case tbts is better then classic period I have owned tbts for more then 55000 km and currently own a classic for more than 11000km
Bhagwati | 4 years agoThunderbird 350 could be a better choice cause it have high capacity tank better riding posture, only thing that annoys a lot in thunderbird is gear shifting issue & footrest area is not that much comfortable for long rides In classic 350 there will be little of vibration issue but you can get more comfort riding posture for long rides ,
Sohanjyoti | 4 years agoThe purpose matters a lot, if you are using for commuting daily in cities along with weekend rides, go for Classic 350. It's a retrofit bike. But if you are only for trips on highways and relaxed less traffic rides, then go for Thunderbird 350. Thunderbird 350 has all the additional features like all other bikes.
Sujit | 4 years agoTechnically the same underneath.. thunderbird is more relaxed ride which makes is beautiful for long rides + 20L fuel tank. classic is a upright posture + 14L fuel..great for the city and well as the high way.due to the handlebar design of the the Thunderbird few find it little difficult to manoeuvre in the city
Neerav | 4 years agoBoth are hot sellers bikes but the main difference is the chassis design and the look the tb350 is equipped with more features such as fuel gauge etc now comes with alloy wheels whereas the classic 350 is a straight forward bike with retro look the seats are also different you can go and check them in nearest re showrooms both are good
Ravi | 4 years agoIt's your personal choice as both bike have same engine. slight change in riding positions. Thunderbird has advantage of fuel meter but My choice would be classic 350 for its riding position. Thunderbird has projecter headlamp which obviously is better than classic 350 but the headlamp is very bright in classic 350
Loki | 3 years agoFor daily commute, in my opinion Classic 350 is good. Both are good long tourers but I prefer Thunderbird due to its 20 L fuel capacity. If you are a short rider, better to go for classic 350. Because if short riders sit on Thunderbird, it's like sitting in a trench or something. 😂
Athul | 5 years agoI'm 5'9 nd uses bike for city commute as well as long tours.Thunderbird usually suits people who are significantly taller i.e you will find it much easier to control it in traffic. For your off road riding, classic would be much better ,as it is significantly shorter and more easier to control.Go for Himalayan if you prefer off road.
Abhishek | 4 years agoIf Talking bout the Engine....The C350 & TB350 Are the Same.... but Talking bout the Frame... TB have a Raised Handlebar and It's not that wasy for a Short Heighted guy to Ride it Comfortably...but Talking bout C350...Def.. there is no issue...you can ride it all day long without Exhaustion. HAPPY BUYING!
Sellvish | 4 years agoIf you're planning for a tourer or cruiser you can choose any bike in 2 but the Classic 350 is so good looking bike(I'm just saying my views)... Don't go with my words....go and take test ride of both the bikes and decide which is comfortable and suitable for you!!!And congratulations for your new bike!!!
Rootvij | 5 years agoThunderbird is a better option but it depends upon you what exactly do you want. I would recommend to take a test drive first then decide because everyone has their own priorities.if one has to drive in City then choose TB350 or in Highway take TB500 If you are going with Thunderbird.
