Aprilia had showcased the RS 150 and the Tuono 150 at Auto Expo 2018. Both the new bikes were important for the Italian brand as they were the first motorcycles from Aprilia to be manufactured in India. And true to its character, the first offering from Aprilia will be sporty 150cc bikes. While the bike showcased at 2018 Auto Expo were the RS 125 and the Tuono 125, the bike coming to India will be based on the Aprilia GPR 150 which is manufactured in China.
Aprilia hasn’t divulged much details but the SR 150 coming to India will be powered by a 150cc, single-cylinder liquid-cooled motor producing 18PS and 14Nm, which is slightly less than the new R15. The styling isn’t as sporty as the RS 150, but the Aprilia GPR 150 feature aluminium swingarm, perimeter frame, USD fork and monoshock. Aprilia RS 150 India price is likely to be under Rs 1.50 lakh (ex-showroom) and the Aprilia 150cc bike will be launched at the 2020 Auto Expo.
