Quick Read:
Two new variants of the Access get single-channel ABS
ABS variants also miss out on a kick-start
Apart from these changes, the scooter remains unchanged
Suzuki has introduced two new variants of the Access 125 with single-channel ABS in India: the Ride Connect ABS Edition and the Ride Connect TFT ABS Edition. While the Access has always been about reliability and everyday comfort, this update is more about future-readiness than flashy upgrades.

The headline update is the addition of single-channel ABS, making the Suzuki Access 125 one of the first scooters from a mainstream manufacturer in India to offer this safety feature. In fact, Suzuki becomes only the second manufacturer to do so after VLF, whose Mobster scooter comes with switchable dual-channel ABS.
There is, however, a small trade-off in the Access. The ABS-equipped variants come with electric start only, which means no kick starter. Suzuki clearly believes most Access buyers today rely on self-start, and removing the starter should have reduced some costs.
Importantly, Suzuki hasn’t discontinued the existing trims. The lower, non-ABS variants continue on sale, giving buyers the freedom to choose between affordability and safety.

Both new variants continue with Suzuki’s Ride Connect system, offering Bluetooth connectivity for call alerts, SMS notifications and navigation assist. The TFT-equipped version adds a colour TFT console, giving the Access a more premium, modern cockpit.
Both ABS variants are available in five colour options: Metallic Mat Black No.2, Metallic Mat Stellar Blue, Pearl Grace White, Solid Ice Green and Pearl Shiny Beige (on the non-TFT variant) / Pearl Mat Aqua Silver (on the TFT variant).

We all know where things are headed; sooner or later, the government will mandate ABS for all two-wheelers, scooters included. By introducing the Access 125 with single-channel ABS ahead of the mandate, Suzuki has played its cards smartly and gained a clear first-mover advantage in a mass-market scooter segment that thrives on reliability and longevity. What’s more interesting is that this move feels like just the beginning. It is only a matter of time before Suzuki extends ABS to the Burgman Street and the Avenis.
