Gets a smaller 350cc engine

Underpinnings and features remain unchanged

Bajaj has launched the smaller and reworked 350cc Bajaj Dominar 400 in India. The result? A significantly more affordable motorcycle that still promises the same big-bike touring experience. While the bike remains the same from the outside, it is the inside that Bajaj has tinkered with.
Price Drop That Changes Everything
The biggest headline here is the aggressive pricing. The new 350cc Dominar 400 is now priced at Rs 2,03,214 (ex-showroom, Delhi), making it Rs 37,014 more affordable than before.
That’s a substantial cut, and it comes courtesy of revised GST norms, which Bajaj has cleverly leveraged to reposition the bike. This is similar to what Triumph did with the new 350cc range. It continues to be offered in two shades: Aurora Green and Charcoal Black, so visually, nothing has changed.

Same Mission, Different Approach
The Dominar has always been pitched as a no-nonsense sport touring machine, something that can munch miles effortlessly while still being manageable in everyday riding conditions.
With the shift to a 349cc engine, Bajaj seems to be chasing accessibility. The idea is simple: retain the Dominar’s touring DNA, but make it easier to own and live with. For many riders who found the earlier version slightly out of reach, this could be the sweet spot.
The revised 349cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor now delivers 40.6PS at 9,000rpm and 33.2Nm at 7,500rpm, paired with a six-speed transmission. Compared to before, peak torque has reduced by 1.8Nm, while peak power has seen a marginal increase of 0.6PS. Additionally, the engine now hits its maximum power 200rpm later, and peak torque arrives 1,000rpm higher up the rev band.
The Numbers You Should Know
Despite the change in engine capacity, the bike’s core proportions remain unchanged.
You still get a 157mm ground clearance, but the kerb weight has dropped by 3kg to 190kg. It rides on 17-inch wheels at both ends, maintaining its planted stance.
However, the 13-litre fuel tank might still be a limiting factor for hardcore tourers who prefer longer stints between fuel stops.

Hardware That Holds Its Ground
Thankfully, Bajaj hasn’t cut corners where it matters. The Dominar continues with its premium hardware setup, including an upside-down fork and a monoshock. Braking duties are handled by disc brakes at both ends, supported by dual-channel ABS.
Feature-wise, it remains well-equipped with full-LED lighting, a digital instrument console, switchable traction control, 4 ride modes (Road, Rain, Sport and Off-road) and a slip-and-assist clutch.
ZigSays
This new iteration of the Bajaj Dominar 400 makes a compelling argument for itself. The lower price makes it far more accessible, without taking away the core elements that made the bike popular in the first place.
If you’ve always liked the idea of owning a Dominar but found the earlier version a bit too expensive or intimidating, this could be your entry point. It still looks big, feels premium, and is built for the long haul, just now with a friendlier price tag.
