Bajaj Auto has launched the 2026 Pulsar 125 in India, and unlike the previous updates, this is not merely a cosmetic refresh. The latest iteration of Bajaj's entry-level Pulsar gets an entirely new engine, revised chassis and suspension, sharper styling and a significantly longer equipment list.

The Pulsar 125 has been one of Bajaj's key sellers in the 125cc motorcycle segment, but rivals such as the TVS Raider 125 and Hero Glamour X 125 have steadily raised the bar when it comes to technology and underpinnings. With the new-generation motorcycle, Bajaj has clearly attempted to close that gap.

Price: New Pulsar 125 Costs More

The new Bajaj Pulsar 125 is available in two variants: Single Seat and Split Seat. Here is how the prices compare with the outgoing motorcycle:

The single-seat variant gets a regular grab rail, while the split-seat variant gets a sporty-looking split grab rail setup.

A New Heart

For the first time in several years, Bajaj has completely reworked the engine of the Pulsar 125. The new motorcycle gets a new 125cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine, replacing the long-serving motor that powered the previous-generation bike. The new engine produces 12.1 PS at 8,500rpm and 11.4 Nm at 6,500rpm, which is 0.3 PS and 0.4 Nm more than the outgoing model. For reference, the previous-generation Pulsar 125's 124.38cc engine produced 11.8 PS at 8,500rpm and 10.8 Nm at 6,500rpm.

Bajaj has also redesigned the engine covers, which now get a gloss-black finish and give the motorcycle a more premium appearance. The new motor is also expected to offer smoother power delivery and improved fuel efficiency, although its real-world performance will need to be tested before we can make a definitive call.

New Underpinnings

The biggest mechanical change, apart from the engine, is underneath the skin. The new Pulsar 125 gets a single-cradle tubular frame, replacing the older motorcycle's dual-cradle setup.

The rear suspension is another major departure. The previous Pulsar 125 used twin shock absorbers, while the new motorcycle gets a monoshock. Up front, suspension duties continue to be handled by a conventional telescopic fork.

The motorcycle rides on 17-inch alloy wheels at both ends and gets a front disc brake with a rear drum brake. CBS is standard, although a single-channel ABS option would have made the new Pulsar even more competitive against some of its rivals.

The changes should make the new Pulsar feel more contemporary than the outgoing motorcycle, particularly with the move to a monoshock rear suspension.

Features Galore

The biggest talking point on the new Pulsar 125 is undoubtedly its 5-inch TFT console. This is the same unit seen on the recently updated Pulsar N160 SS, and it brings a level of connectivity that would have been difficult to imagine on a Pulsar 125 a few years ago.

The TFT display gets smartphone connectivity along with turn-by-turn navigation, Google Maps mirroring, SMS/call alerts and music controls. It can also store important documents such as your driving licence and vehicle registration certificate, adding some useful everyday functionality.

The new Pulsar 125 also gets switchable idle start/stop technology along with a silent starter. The system shuts the engine off when the motorcycle is stationary and restarts it when required, which should help improve fuel efficiency, particularly in stop-go city traffic.

The styling has also evolved significantly. The headlight cowl is sharper and more aggressive, while the muscular fuel tank and tank extensions retain the familiar Pulsar character. The tail section gets a completely new LED tail-light design, giving the motorcycle a fresher appearance without moving too far away from the Pulsar family identity. Last but not the least, the bike is available in 4 colour schemes: Ebony Black Cyan Blue,Ebony Black Magenta Red, Fury Red, Saffire Blue.
