Bookings for Hyundai i20 facelift open at select dealerships.
The i20 facelift is likely to follow the same design changes as the global spec model.
New features could include a digital driver’s display, dual dash cam, and ventilated seats.
Likely to carry the same engine options, but with possible new gearbox pairings.
Expect a slight premium over the prices of the outgoing model.
Offline bookings for the facelifted Hyundai i20 have opened at select dealerships ahead of its launch in the coming weeks. This will be the first ever update for this generation of the i20 and it was even teased just recently. We suspect its sportier iteration, the i20 N Line, to get a similar treatment as well, which could follow sometime after the launch of the standard car.
The differences in the facelifted i20 will be easily spotted at the front, thanks to the Verna-like cascading grille with a revised pair of LED headlights. The front bumper will also be slightly tweaked with sharply sculpted airdams. However, from other angles, changes aren’t going to be night and day, as they will be limited to new wheels and a tweaked rear.
The cabin is going to follow the same layout as the outgoing model, but you can expect a few visual enhancements in the form of contrasting inserts and new colour schemes for the upholstery. If it follows the same treatment as the global spec model, you can expect a digital driver’s display, along with new features such as a dual dash cam, ventilated front seats and probably a 360-degree camera. Six airbags could be offered as standard, given that the Exter gets it as well.
The existing list of features, which includes a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, connected car tech, a wireless phone charger, automatic climate control, a Bose sound system, and a single-pane sunroof, are likely to be carried over as it is.

The i20 facelift should carry over the engine options as it is with the same 83PS 1.2-litre petrol and 120PS 1-litre turbo-petrol engines. The former should continue with a 5-speed MT or CVT, while the latter could get a 6-speed manual instead of the 6-speed iMT and an optional 7-speed DCT.

Given that the changes on the facelifted i20 aren’t that extensive, it is likely to carry a small premium over the outgoing model which is priced from Rs 7.46 lakh (ex-showroom). It will continue to take on the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Toyota Glanza, and Tata Altroz.
