BMW R 18 Transcontinental Latest Updates

BMW Motorrad has launched the BMW R 18 Transcontinental and the BMW R 18 B variants in Europe. Take a look at what’s new in our report here.

The two variants feature a massive fairing with windshield, speaker system, TFT instrument cluster with classic circular analogue dials, heated grips, panniers, alloy wheels, among others. The R 18 Transcontinental also comes with a top box with integrated backrest. While the engine output in these variants are the same as the standard variant (91.09PS/158Nm), it has been enhanced with standard engine braking control, and optional dynamic cruise control, reverse assist and hill-start control.

The two motorcycles share the same underpinnings as the standard variant, but the rear monoshock gets automatic load compensation. The bikes rival Harley-Davidson Road Glide, Harley-Davidson Street Glide, Indian Chieftain, Indian Roadmaster, and Honda Gold Wing.
