The Torque Play

What sets the bullet 500 different from the 350s? the engine!! this retro motorcycle is powered by a mammoth 499cc engine with a modest 27 ps of power and strong 41nm of torque. So how does this translate on road? in short, It’s the massive torque that is the name of the game. In city limits, it’s absolutely effortless with barely any gearshift required. It can pull away easily from 60 kph in 5th gear without any protests. Out on the highway engine is happy cruising at 100km/hr and if you have an enthusiastic right hand it will show a speedo indicating 130 km/hr. It’s at high revs this engine shows its inferior side with vibrations. But when compared to the use 350, This one feels way superior. The 500 feels rock solid in a straight line, But corners are not its cup of tea. You can feel the weight of the bike and feels nervous. Talking about the build, It’s nothing great to write home. You always feel like re could have made this bike more reliable Because the mechanic would be the person you visit the most with the bike period. Fuel efficiency is one thing that one should never expect from 500. The bike returns 25 km/l on average, Which is low for the performance it has to offer. (weight being the culprit here)re ‘s after sale network is good but the services they offer. The finish they offer is minimal and you have to visit them a couple of times for solving the issues, Which is irritating at the least. Overall, If outright performance is not on your list and has a mechanic friend this bike ticks all the boxes pretty well. It’s really a joy to ride majestically around town and can handle highway duties effortlessly; all this while keeping you comfortable and engaged with the beautiful thump.Pros :1.Torque 2.Seating comfort3.The thump cons 1. Vibration 2.Reliability 3. Fuel economy.

Long rides

3.8

For city rides, owing to its weight, the bike is good only if you can handle it. Still, grabbing the clutch occasionally can give you a sore wrist if you are stuck in a long traffic. Cruising speed is about 80-90 kmph and can go up to 115 kmph without much discomfort. Although, mileage has a drastic reduction above speeds of 90. The area in which it shines is on long rides. Even riding 1000 kms with just occasional pit stops I have never had any back pain whereas I have felt it for RE Classic variant. The weight of close to 200 kmph is an assurance on great highways, you feel stable even at high speeds. But the weight becomes an issue while we are in cities and when we have to make you turns in tight spaces. So city rides- no, long highway rides, mountain rides - yeah. The torque can eat up steep slopes without any apparent effort. So for a close to 2 lakh price I am very happy with this bike although I knew what I was getting into and I wanted it.
