Driving experience is top

This is a complete review of dominar 400 ug read it to decide whether to take this bike or not.Driving experience is top notch the pickup this bike gives for this price cannot be matched. Some may say put a little more money and get a duke 390 but the sound, Comfort in longs, Mid range performance the official look won't come in duke 390.Coming to the best things it is build quality, Beast like look, Dual barrel exhaust, Pickup, Midrange performance, Looks official to anybody, Attention grabbing bike, Bassy sound, Comfort to the pillion, Nothing compares to this in longs and you'll love the vibration in a good way.Coming to bad things bike is heavy compared to competitors, Not easy to maneuver in traffic, you turn is difficult, Heating is more when you are static or in slow moving traffic, Difficult to lift when bike falls, Maintenance is comparatively high but manageable and fuel economy is average. After sales service is good don't go to service centers other than bajaj.Features in this bike is very basic you get a negative cluster which gives rpm indication, Odometer, Tacho meter and fuel and time.Gear position indicator is on the tank which is difficult to look at which i don't like about this bike.I have to say the dual channel brakes work really well and is a life saver. And one more thing is you get a ton of touring accessories for this bike which upon addition becomes a great tourer you can take this bike to hard places it will travel with all the heart with you.Just go for it neglect small disadvantages and go for the bike.

Telibagh lucknow

4.6

I own a bajaj dominar 400 ug bs iv green & black colour which i purchased in june 2019 from naamdhari bajaj showroom in telibagh lucknow, And till now it has done 25, 000 + kms.So far it has been a very happy and satisfying ownership experience & i expect the same experience from my motorcycle in the years to come as well.I ride this motorcycle daily and am a very satisfied and proud owner of it.I'm getting between 25 - 28 kms/ltr of fuel economy from my motorcycle which is acceptable considering that it is quite a heavy motorcycle and a powerful one as well.373.2 cc & 40 bhp are good power figures for such a motorcycle. It is the most value for money motorcycle available in india and it offers a lot of features as well.Just a few things i would like to mention here that could have made it even better.1 it should have had a bigger 17 - 18 ltrs capacity fuel tank, 13 ltrs fuel tank is just not enough for this motorcycle if long distance high speed touring is on your mind which this motorcycle is very well capable of doing, 2 it should have been 20 - 25 kgs lighter in weight, 3 front disc brake should have offered slightly more stronger initial bite, 4 a main centre stand is missed and it should have been there in this motorcycle.Nonetheless.I am enjoying every moment riding this motorcycle from day one, Love the way it picks up speed in any of the 6 gears, Love the high speed handling and behaviour of this motorcycle at triple digit speeds, The motorcycle only starts wobbling above the speed of 150 km/hr which is an issue that i have faced and many other dominar owners must have also faced the same issue, Till 150 km/hr it is goodlove the feeling that i get while riding it.It always brings a smile on my face 😊love the looks of it 💚got the chain sprocket set changed last month at 24, 000 kms.Stock mrf tyres on this motorcycle are actually very good if not great, I may be trying some other brand tyres once these tyres wear off.I feel they can do another 10, 000 - 12, 000 kms or so.Next set of tyres can be apollo alpha h 1 or metzelers or michelinslet's see.I'm not sure of it rite now.

Unpaved rubble

4.6

I have been using graphite matte dominar 2017 for three years now, While earlier i used it for city ride in delhi for 20kms a day for 18-20 months, Later i started touring on it once i had confidence on bike.I have done delhi to jaisalmer round trip of 2500 kms within 7 days and that did tested the bike on paved highway and unpaved rubble way on the way.Touring experience - talking about the performance, Long touring is effortless, Did 700kms in a day while riding time was 8 hrs in total, I cruised at 120-130 for an hour and then kept myself up and running at 100kmph for most of the day, I have done 20k till now i and stock tyres are still good to go for another 5-7k.While one of the bike broke down on the way to jaisalmer, My bike performed with ease. The problem arrived when we were heading back to delhi on 7th day, Brakes were wobbling and hadto drive with limited speeds of 80-90 km that too on open highway from jaipur to delhi. This problem took atleast 3 service centre visits, With 3 different dealerships and only mahipalpur bagga link service centre in new delhi offered the good solution.Handle crank was loose. So there was a j**k on bike while braking.Long term problems -another problem i faced was rear brakes, The master cylinder in first version of 2017 isn't great and brake gets air somehow in 6 months.I'm not sure of comparison with other bikes though. After 10k kms, It took 4 hrs to pump back the pressure without changing disks or calipers and brakes are still working fine. Then only brakes were back to stock condition. Thanks to kalkaji service station in new delhi. They do charge irrelevant prices.Suspension - talking about suspension, It is good for paved road and if you are driving it for the first time you will feel heaviness and harder suspension in city traffic.Off road performance is also good but in rains and mud, You need to change your tyre according to the terrain you ride.Stock tyre feels slippery during rains and it doesn't work well in mud, Ofcourse it is a dry track tyre from mrf.City driving - driving in city, I felt no hesitation in rush hours in delhi, Its pretty good to handle in such traffic.Economy takes a hit in traffic, It goes down to 18-19kmpl (i did revved hard at 7k rpm level at low gears to check the difference in economy). When i'm riding at 3-4k rpm at higher gears, Let's say 45kmph @ 3rd gear.Fuel economy jumps to 26-28 kmpl.Quite considerable difference there.Mileage - as i mentioned, City riding at high revs, Will cost you fuel economy dearly. You may get 21-24kmpl in such riding style. At highway i touched 31.67kmpl on jaipur-delhi highway which is absolute paradise for riders. On mountains it will give you 26-28kmpl and oh boy don't even try to turn engine off on hills, Unless you want to crash (just some riding guidance there ;))headlamps-now talking about the headlamps, If you compare it with any other bike, These are super cool but in comparison with ktm range, They seem dull, Especially the dipper. This can be improved since dominar needs good dipper because it is a highway bike than ktm.Clutch is on tough side, I had to recalibrate it according to my style.Ktm has live in wire throttle which is a charm seriously.Gear pad also feels low quality and get loosen up.Troubles while shifting gear.Got it changed at 10k but i guess its good enough.Ride style - im stock condition, Without installing handle bar raisers, It feels little committed, Lesser than ktm duke but it will put strain on your shoulders and wrists and you are bound to get carpel tunnel syndrome if you ride in stock condition on long tours.Advice - get suspension raisers or handle bar raisers if you want effortless riding experience. It does wonders.Seat - many people suggested me to modify my seat but i didnt.I weigh 59kg at 5'7.5' height so it is really comfortable for me im stock condition. You may want to modify if you weigh more than 65-70kgs.Pillion seat of 2017 model makes a lot of noise, Maybe the plastic component has started to loosen s bit over the time.Console - acrylic panel with abs fixtures. It is a scratch magnet, I changed it just now as it started getting c***k marks due to temperature changes over longer period of bike usage.I would recommend, Get it laminated as soon as you get your bike.Otherwise the console has good features, Enough to let you know everything you want for a bike console.Maintenance - it will give you 1.5-2.5₹ per km running cost in three years and if you fond of accessories like me, You will get around 3.5₹ running cost per km over 20k kms. These costs are bound to reduce if you do a lot of long tours due to significant reduction in fuel economy on highways.Exhaust - i prefer the 2017 exhaust note but new one is really heavy and may give you superbike feel.Hardware of older moto is really tough, Can take a 2cm deep hit without affecting the exhaust console. And you can get it repaired for as low as 20₹ form local welding workshop.Else it costs just 500₹ from service centre, If available.Mine is still to get delivered even after a month of booking.Accessories - i have installed few touring mods like crash guards, Knuckle guards etc. With did saved me from an accident i had at 50kmph.Also i got mobile charger bolt, Ram mount, Carbon racing wind shield with braces which vibrates but helps a lot on highway during wind blasts and wind drafts.I changed the mirrors to the new version of 2019 ug model. Also planning to change the tank body to new ug model's graphite matte.I also installed flashers from simtac and auxiliary lights with relay harness.Cleaning and maintenance - i wash and polish it every alternate weekend, Also depends on the amount of mud or dust. And semi annual ceramic coating maintenance to maintain the paint.I like shiny graphite than matte.Things to know -always install new relay harness with auxiliary lights.Don't connect then directly in main harness just to avoid any future complication with your stock components.Choose metal frame knuckle guard, And good quality thick wind shield for better protection.Crash guards are must and there shouldn't be any compromise with that.Rev low and gears high will give you good economy and engine will last longer than expectation.Keep a check on tyres tread as per your riding style.Throttle and clutch wire can be adjusted as per your style.Don't try to run over a speed breaker at high speed, Will damage your alloy rims. And that is an unwanted expense.Summary -good bike for city, One of the best power cruiser in mid range for highways.Powerful workhorse if maintained properly.
