From electric and mild-hybrids to full-blown maxi-scooters, this month has a lot to look forward to

This year has been one of the most exciting years for two-wheeler enthusiasts. From policy revisions for electric vehicles to getting some of the world’s finest motorcycles to our shores, there’s something for everyone. This month is no different, which promises to bring some of the most highly-anticipated two-wheelers for us enthusiasts:

Ola Electric Scooter
There hasn’t been a week in the last couple of months when Ola Electric didn’t top the headlines. Information on everything from its colours to the trademark filings of multiple variants is out now. The CEO has been enthusiastically sharing updates, and the company has even commenced reservations. So it's about time that the electric scooter makes its debut which is likely to happen in the first half of the month.

Simple Energy One
Seems like Ather Energy isn’t the only company from India’s Silicon Valley which aims to rule the EV space. Simple Energy has been quietly working on challenging Ather’s dominion and will debut its first electric scooter, called the One on 15 August. The scooter packs twice the range of the 450X and is likely to be priced lower than it’s direct rival as well.

BMW C 400 GT
A full-blown maxi-scooter from BMW Motorrad is what no one saw coming. The German manufacturer has teased the launch of the C 400 GT and we expect the maxi-scooter to grace the Indian shores by mid-August. Not only does the C 400 GT pack more performance than the BMW G 310 GS, but is likely to cost twice as much.

Honda NX200
The country’s newfound love for adventure bikes has tempted Honda to bring out its own mean little mile-muncher. With the Honda Africa Twin and CB500X already on sale in India, the Japanese bike maker will now have the smallest ADV, likely to be called the NX200 for our market. The bike will be based on the Hornet 2.0 and is likely to take some inspiration from the Honda CBF190X, which you can see here.

2021 Royal Enfield Classic 350
The country has been awaiting the launch of the 2021 Royal Enfield Classic 350 for months. However, new spy shots show the bike in its full glory and even showcases multiple variants which will be on offer. We expect the launch to happen in mid-August. The bike is likely to carry a slight premium over the current model.

2021 KTM RC 390
KTM has been extensively testing its new range of supersports in Pune. The 2021 KTM RC 390 has already been spotted sans camouflage, hinting at an imminent launch. With the pandemic-induced restrictions easing across the country, we believe that the 2021 KTM RC 200 and the RC 125 too will make its debut as well this month.

2021 TVS Apache RR310
The second wave of the pandemic played spoilsport in the launch of the flagship TVS bike. Though TVS has been updating this bike every year, this update will bring some segment-first features. Read this story for more details.

Yamaha RayZR 125 Hybrid
The Yamaha Fascino 125 Hybrid was the first mild-hybrid scooter to grace the Indian shores, and we believe Team Blue will bring its sporty sibling this month. Not only does this scooter pack a hybrid engine, but also a couple of new features. Read more about the upcoming RayZR 125 Hybrid here.

Bajaj Pulsar 250F
Meant to replace the ageing Pulsar 220F, the new Bajaj Pulsar 250F is likely to make its debut by the end of this month. We have managed to get some of the clearest shots of the bike yet, and it looks like it’s very close to completing its final tests before it goes into production. Another reason to be excited about this bike is its pricing. This could possibly be the cheapest quarter-litre bike in the country. Bring it already, Bajaj!
