Much like Microsoft when it was deciding what to call its next-gen gaming console in 2013, upcoming EV brand Simple Energy will call its first electric scooter simply the Simple One. Interestingly, Simple Energy has also revealed that the One’s sticker price is likely to be between Rs 1.10 lakh and Rs 1.20 lakh (ex-showroom).

What remains to be seen is whether this indicative price is with the latest subsidy reform or not. Thankfully, the scooter will be launched on Independence Day, so we won’t have to wait that long to find out.

Up until now, we have heard and seen camouflaged shots of the scooter, which was called the Mark 2 during its testing phase, with little details revealed. Simple Energy claims that the One will go 240km on a single charge, which if true would give it one of the highest ranges in the Indian EV space. Furthermore, the One’s top speed will be limited to 100kmph and it will do the 0-50kmph run in 3.6 seconds, making it even sportier than the Ather 450X.
