The BMW C 400 GT packs more performance and features than the BMW G 310 GS

In an unprecedented move, BMW Motorrad India has teased the arrival of its maxi-scooter, the C 400 GT. Though the Bavarian brand hasn’t announced a launch date yet, it is likely that the maxi-scooter will grace our shores next month.

BMW Motorrad updated its maxi-scooter duo, the C 400 GT and the C 400 X earlier this year. While the former is intended for touring, the latter is intended for urban mobility. Interestingly, the teaser image uses the hashtag “urban mobility” while the scooter in the picture seems to be the Gran Turismo version.

The 2021 iteration of the BMW C 400 GT carries the same aggressive design as the previous model. Everything from the quad LED headlight to the integrated indicators and the keyless ignition screams premium. Being a maxi-scooter, the C 400 GT doesn’t fall short on storage too and comes with upto 45 litres of storage space, along with a glove box that houses a USB port to charge your phone.

The BMW C 400 GT uses a 350cc, single-cylinder liquid-cooled motor that puts out a healthy 34PS and 35Nm. Yeah, the maxi-scooter packs more performance than the BMW G 310 GS which produces 34PS and 28NM. But that’s not why you would be tempted to buy the GT over the GS. The list of features on the BMW C 400 GT includes a TFT dashboard with bluetooth connectivity, Automatic Stability Control (ASC) and dual-channel ABS as standard.

BMW Motorrad has equipped the maxi-scooter with equally impressive hardware as well. The C 400 GT rides on a telescopic fork and a pair of preload-adjustable shocks at the rear. BMW has reworked the braking system, and now the dual discs up front come with new brake calipers.

The BMW C 400 GT has been priced at GBP 7,290 in the UK, which translates to almost Rs 7.5 lakh. In India, the maxi-scooter is likely to be priced around Rs 7 lakh, which would make it an expensive proposition. But if you are on a lookout for a maxi-scooter, your options are limited to this Beemer, unless Honda decides to surprise us with the Forza 350.
