The SIAM (Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers) report is a monthly log of motor vehicle data in the country. The latest domestic sales numbers for the months of April to June 2022 are in, so let’s have a look at five bike makers with highest sales and their respective market share.
Domestic Sales From April To June 2022 |
152,723 |
157,642 |
308,159 |
433,106 |
1,246,827 |
Please note: These numbers are strictly just motorcycles and do not include scooters and mopeds.
Are we surprised? But, what’s shocking is the sheer volume at which Hero MotoCorp is currently operating at. With a seven digit sales figure and a staggering 51.84 percent market share, the Indian mark sure knows how to flex. Of course, the next two biggies aren’t really a surprise either, Honda takes the second spot with its 4.33 lakh sales and Pune based Bajaj taking the next step at 3.08 lakh units sold. Their market shares stand at 18.01 and 12.81 percent respectively.
Both Royal Enfield and TVS trail behind with 1.57 and 1.52 lakh sales respectively. TVS has been pretty active in the first half with new launches like the Ronin, meanwhile Royal Enfield has a few bikes lined up for the second half of the year. So, this should make the next round of numbers more interesting.
