Versys 1100 Key Highlights
Price: The Versys 1100 is priced at Rs 13,89,000 (ex-showroom).
Design: Kawasaki follows a uniform design scheme for most of its models lately, and the same goes to the Versys 1100 as well. Simply put, it looks like a beefier sibling of the Versys 650. The proportions are pretty large, so it will attract attention wherever it goes. That said, it’s not too in-your-face like the BMW GSes and the KTM Super Adventures of the world. The bike is currently being sold in one shade, Metallic, Matte, Graphene Steel Gray/ Metallic Diablo Black.
Features: The Kawasaki Versys 1100 keeps its features list fairly simple. It comes with a digi-analogue console with a tachometer and anLCD inset. For convenience it gets cruise control, a Type-C charging port, and an adjustable windscreen. However, there’s no smartphone connectivity, which is really disappointing on a motorcycle that costs as much as a sedan. On the safety front, the Versys 1100 is equipped with dual-channel ABS, traction control, and wheelie control.
Engine: Power comes from a 1,099 cc, in-line four-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor that churns out 135 PS at 9,000 rpm and 112 Nm at 7,600 rpm. The engine is paired to a 6-speed gearbox. Not that it’s super critical, but if you have to know, Kawasaki claims a fuel efficiency of around 18 kmpl.
Suspension, Brakes & Other Details: The Versys 1100 gets a fully adjustable 43 mm upside-down front fork offering 150 mm of travel, paired with a horizontal backlink, gas-charged rear monoshock that provides 152 mm of wheel travel. It’s got a 310 mm dual-disc setup at the front and a 260 mm disc at the rear. Since it’s a road-biased ADV, it uses 17-inch alloy wheels at both ends, with 120-section tyres up front and 180-section tyres at the rear.
Rivals: The Kawasaki Versys 1100 rivals the Triumph Tiger 1200, BMW R 1300 GS, Ducati Multistrada V4, and the KTM 1290 Super Adventure S.
Variants: The Versys 1100 is available only in one variant.
