Upcoming BMW F 450 RR unveiled globally
Based on the brand’s F 450 R naked bike
Design inspired by the BMW S 1000 RR
BMW Motorrad has finally unveiled the upcoming F 450 RR supersport bike. It is based on the recently unveiled BMW F 450 R but gets a fully faired design inspired by the BMW S 1000 RR. Here’s a closer look.

Unlike the F 450 R, which has a naked streetfighter design, the F 450 RR gets a fully faired design inspired by the current-gen S 1000 RR. It gets V-shaped, vertically stacked dual LED headlights with signature RR-style LED DRL's. It also gets low-set clip-ons and rear-set footpegs, which should give the bike a fairly committed riding position. Just like the first-gen S 1000 RR, the F450RR gets asymmetrical side panels that give it a distinctive appearance.
The bike also gets a large, sculpted fuel tank for the rider to grip onto, along with a windscreen for better aerodynamics at high speeds. The cherry on top is the sharp-looking winglets, which will improve the bike’s aerodynamics and give the bike a premium, aggressive look.

It is available in 3 colours: Racing Red, Cosmic Black and a special Snaefell White colour scheme in the M Sport variant.

Powering this BMW bike is a 420 cc parallel-twin engine that gets a unique 135-degree crank, which also powers the F 450 R and F 450 GS. It produces 48 PS and 43 Nm and is paired to a 6-speed gearbox. BMW claims that 80 percent of the engine’s torque is available from 3,000 RPM onwards, which should make it pretty usable in the city as well as out on the highway.
The quickshifter is standard on all variants and an optional accessory on the base variant. There is also an optional Easy Ride Clutch (ERC), which we have already tested on the BMW F 450 GS.

The bike uses a tubular steel frame and gets a 43 mm KYB inverted fork and a monoshock. It rides on 17-inch alloy wheels with a 110-section front tyre and a 150-section rear tyre. Braking duties are handled by a 310 mm front disc with a Brembo 4-piston caliper and a 240 mm rear disc with a ByBre caliper.

In terms of features, the bike comes equipped with a 6.5-inch TFT console with Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, music controls, call/SMS alerts, and more. The bike also gets a USB charging port for additional convenience.
It comes with three riding modes as standard: Rain, Road, and Race, which adjust power delivery based on the selected mode. The higher variants get Riding Modes Pro, with an additional Race Pro mode and three sport-focused display screens.
Other features include a slipper clutch and heated grips. Buyers can also opt for the Easy Ride Clutch (ERC), which allows the rider to start, stop, and change gears without manually operating the clutch. The top-spec variant gets the ERC as standard.
Safety features include dual-channel ABS and traction control, along with a hazard light switch.

The BMW F 450 RR will be available in four variants: Base, Sport, M Sport and M Sport with Innovation Package. The higher variants will get additional features, including the Shift Assistant Pro quickshifter and Sport Suspension. The top-spec variant will also get BMW’s Easy Ride Clutch as standard.

The BMW F 450 RR will be the brand’s newest supersport offering, and it will be built right here in India at TVS’ Hosur factory. With its punchy twin-cylinder engine, premium hardware, and modern feature set, it is expected to be a very interesting option for someone looking for a middleweight sportbike.
Once launched, the BMW F 450 RR is expected to be priced at around Rs 4.80 lakh (ex-showroom), and will rival bikes like the Aprilia RS 457 and Kawasaki Ninja 500.
