The updated bike gets smartphone connectivity and revised switchgear

The upcoming updated version of the Bajaj Pulsar N160 has been spotted at a dealer yard ahead of its launch. Unlike the test mule spied earlier, this one doesn’t get an inverted fork, but something that the geeks will appreciate. 

The current Bajaj Pulsar N160 gets a semi-digital instrument console with regular readouts such odometer, tachometer, speedometer, distance to empty, instantaneous and average mileage indicator, gear position indicator, clock, fuel gauge and dual trip meters, apart from the tell-tale lights. The updated Pulsar N160 gets a negative LCD instrument console with smartphone connectivity for call & SMS alerts, phone’s battery status and signal strength. It doesn’t seem to have turn-by-turn navigation, though. Also, at the bottom of the console, there is a space for displaying various warnings such as ABS error,low-fuel alert, among others. The bike also gets a new switchgear layout on the left handlebar, with a mode button too. 

The rest of the bike remains unchanged and it will continue to be powered by the same 164.82cc, single-cylinder, air-oil-cooled engine producing 16PS and 14.65Nm. The updated version is expected to fetch a premium of about Rs 3,000 over the current bike’s Rs 1,30,560 (ex-showroom New Delhi) price tag and will likely be launched in the coming weeks.
