The Jazz’ ride is the highlight of the package. There’s no change in suspension hardware, so it remains as comfy as ever. It manages to take the sting out of most patches of broken roads and potholes. On a calm city drive, it’s just what you want. The ride is relaxing as the suspension doesn’t let much into the cabin. As the speeds build, it remains poised even as the speedo hits triple digits. Push it past that, and you’d pick on a sense of floatiness. That said, as long as you stick to the speed limit, you should be plenty comfortable. Honda claims that Honda Jazz returns an ARAI-certified fuel efficiency of 18.2kmpl, whereas the diesel-manual version returns 27.3kmpl. The Jazz with the petrol-CVT combo has a fuel efficiency of 19kmpl.

  • Q. How is the new jazz CVT. Will it go back while starting from uploping roads .How is the acceleration and pulling of the petrol version .Hows the maintenance cost. Is it affordable?

Jazz comes with a 7-step CVT which is well tuned for everyday driving - smooth, relaxed and efficient. Slam the throttle down and the CVT hesitates for a second before locking the revs at the redline. Progress is swift; but it doesn’t feel so, since there’s an aural overload of that engine screaming its lungs out. You can take charge of the “gears” yourself by using the paddle shifters. If you can’t be bothered with that, you can always shift to ‘Sport’ mode. Don’t expect the Jazz to transform into a hot hatch when you do so, though. Total estimated maintenance cost of Honda Jazz petrol automatic for 5 years is Rs. 39,090 It is an approximate figure excluding labour charges and GST. The price may vary as per the location and condition of the car. Moreover, you may contact to the nearest authorized Tata service centre for the same as they will be the better person to assist you in this concern. No; it doesn't roll back on slopes at all. The acceleration could be a bit more spiffy but you get there by pushing on the pedal a bit more. Maintenance has been just routine for me at approx. 8k per visit (oil change) every 7/8k kms

Performance is fine, pick up a tad bit low but once it revs up it's fine, keep in mind when overtaking. No issues on ground clearance

  • Q. Is mileage and service better than Swift - Jazz 2018?
    Zigwheels
    Zigwheels | 4 months ago

The Honda Jazz offers claimed ARAI mileage of petrol is 19kmpl, and for the Honda, Jazz diesel is 27kmpl. The ARAI claimed mileage of the Maruti Swift petrol is 22kmpl, and for the Maruti Swift diesel is 28kmpl. So in terms of fuel economy, the Maruti Swift is a more efficient car. The Service network of Maruti is quite appreciating in India, there is no doubt about that. Honda is picking up in terms service network as well but it would require a lot of time to match the service network of Maruti Suzuki. Although we can't give a verdict about the quality of the service.

Honda Jazz is the best. More comfortable on long rides and gives awesome mileage. Even service cost is less. It's very spacious.

The smoothest CVT of the lot, is of the Honda Jazz. If you're okay compromising on some features, this is the one to pick.

I have taken it to himalayas and trust me you will cry on steeps. Always a gear shift required.Mine was full loaded 4 passenger and luggage. I could feel the pain to keep the car in power in 1st & 2nd gear to climb those steeps. Rest it is superb, little bit of body roll but thats not nerving.Comfort is superb and space is enough to have everything packed

Jazz CVT is good on hill driving. But it's not the CVT , but the engine which is not that responsive on incline driving. The engine or the clutch is designed to provide more speed than torque, so I wouldn't suggest any Jazz for a regular hill driving.

The Honda Jazz S variant is the base model which is only available in diesel fuel type. Moreover, the variant gets features like Multi-function Steering Wheel, Power Adjustable Exterior Rear View Mirror, Anti Lock Braking System, Power Windows all 4, Wheel Covers, Passenger Airbag, Driver Airbag, Power Steering and Air Conditioner etc. These features totally justify the value of the car.

For Kolkata City Honda Jazz is good. Also Honda Jazz has an impressive performance if you ever hit the highway. For city traffic it would be much better to buy an automatic and Honda Jazz has a bottom end variant with CVT.

  • Q. Which petrol car is great for a family of 5 between Honda Amaze and WR-V considering occasional highway trips of 1000 km every 2 months once with cabin and boot fully loaded - Jazz 2018?
    Jashan
    Jashan | 4 months ago

If you are planning to buy a petrol then go with amaze only and if its diesel then buy WRV/amaze.Don't buy WRV petrol as engine is small for jazz and WRV is even 60kg heavier than jazz which means more lathargic and slow on performance with full packed car.

Yes, It’s ground clearance is an issue. The condition of our roads as they are, the suspension is very low. The new jazz’s suspension is heightened a lil’ it seems!
