Q. Which is good to buy between Apache 160 4v and Hornet 160R?
  • Hey Vishal...To answer your question, its obvious to get confused with variety of bikes available in Indian market. As per choices you mentioned in your question, on first spot I will mention Hornet 160R and Apache 160 4V and on second spot its Yamaha. Lets first talk about Apache 160 4V. Completely raw power, good performance, good torque and power combination, good aggressive styling, everything is good but I still trust on Honda engines for reliability. Even when it comes to after sales network part then Honda is all over this country and that is the only advantage Honda is having. About Yamaha, in this 150-160 cc segment..it is something really falling behind. Less power compare to other two machines from your choice list. So I would say, If you need reliability with decent performance and wide service network go with Hornet or if you need some power packed action without thinking its resale value go for Apache 160
  • In the form of the CB Hornet 160R, Honda now has a competitive offering in the premium 160cc motorcycle segment. It looks the part with its sporty styling and chiselled lines. Performance of the motorcycle is also admirable with respect to its rivals and it offers decent fuel efficiency as well. It seems that Honda have got it right the third time around. On the other hand, if a bike has to survive in the cut-throat 160cc two-wheeler segment, it needs to be competitively priced and pack enough performance to keep riders happy. Thankfully, the Apache RTR 160 4V delivers well on both fronts with class leading features at its price. However, it doesn’t feel as confident under hard braking as the Honda Hornet. That said, the Apache RTR 160 4V is not only the most refined RTR we have ridden till date but also one of the most refined 160cc motorcycles to be ever produced in India.

Q. I'm planning to buy a new book bike, I'm confuse in choosing the bike 1)Honda Hornet 2) Honda Xblade 3) Suzuki Gixxer. Which one is better?
  • If you are looking for a bit of professional bike(like office boy), then go for x blade.. If you are looking for a sportive or muscular look bike, then Hornet will be good for you. There is not much difference in mileage for both the bikes. I have hornet & my roommate has x blade. No idea about gixxer.
  • High range bike you may buy cbz extreme. pulsar 125cc.150cc.but al those bike have near 45km/litre or if you want to buy average bike thanbuy honda neo/livo.hero splendour /passion/xprothese bikes have near 60km/litre average. avoid honda( shine)
  • If you can't wait a little for Hornet bs6 model, I would go for Yamaha fz bs6. It's light, easily flickable, stable at high speeds and has a good amount of torque at low and mid range that makes it good in the city.

Q. Is Hornet have better performance than Xblade?
  • Hornet has the strongest mid range amongst the 160's available here It has a sudden Torque surge after 4500 rpm and the power band is till 9500rpm , below 4500 rpm it is really very sluggish The X Blade on the other hand has a good low end , decent Mid range and absolutely no top end
  • Yes, Hornet is better than Xblade.
  • Yes 1bhp more power
