Kawasaki will unveil three bikes at the 2019 EICMA. Is the new Z900 one of them?

  • The 2020 Z900 is due for a major makeover.
  • It could get a new TFT display and a new set of rider aids as well.
  • Expect the updated motor to have a different power output.
  • Kawasaki has updated almost its entire model lineup for MY 2020. From the Z400 to the Versys 1000, the Japanese bike maker has tinkered with almost every motorcycle apart from the Z900. But, it seems like Kawasaki will unveil the 2020 Z900 at the upcoming EICMA as the recent CARB filings have confirmed that the bike maker is working on the 2020 iteration of its naked motorcycle.

The CARB filings haven’t shed much light on the 2020 Z900, but it states that Kawasaki will use the same 948cc, liquid-cooled, in-line four motor as the current-gen motorcycle. We expect this motor to be Euro 5/BS6-compliant, but it’s still unclear whether the updated engine will have a different power output or not.

Apart from the addition of new paint options last year, the motorcycle hasn’t received any other update since then so Kawasaki might take this opportunity to bring in a heavily updated Z900. We expect the 2020 Z900 to get a new set of rider aids as well as a new digital instrument cluster.

Kawasaki had shared a teaser image last month of three bikes under wraps, which are scheduled for the EICMA. Will the 2020 Z900 will be one of them? Or will Kawasaki also bring the 2020 ZX-10RR? We guess, we have to wait for the coming weeks to find out. Until then, stay tuned to ZigWheels for updates.
