TVS recently showcased its Apache RR 200 MiniGP race bike in India. It is specifically built for its all-new junior racing program, which focuses on kids aged above 10 years. The bike is powered by a custom-tuned Apache RTR 200 engine.

Don't let the size of this bike fool you. It produces 23 PS , 20.1 Nm and has a top speed of 110 kmph with a very accessible weight of 90 kg.

The bike features a fully adjustable upside-down fork and a custom-built monoshock. It also gets rear-set footpegs, a custom ECU flash, and a data logger, which records GPS position, speed, engine RPM and throttle position. Which is used to give rider feedback and helps with motorcycle development.

Until now, aspiring racers in India could only enter professional motorsport at the age of 15 (TVS Rookie's Cup). By then, many international riders had already spent years honing their skills on the trackNow, with the junior program, riders from age 10 will gain valuable practice time much earlier. This will help them build racecraft, improve their skills, and bridge the gap with international competitors from the very beginning.
All said and done, this initiative by TVS Racing could produce India's next MotoGP rider. Hopefully, it won't be long before we see an Indian racer standing on the top step of the MotoGP podium with the tricolour flying high.
