Hero MotoCorp and Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) announced that they have slashed prices of their products after Finance Minister, P Chidambaram announced reduction in excise duty in the Interim Budget 2014. The excise duty has been slashed from the previous 12 per cent to current eight percent and is applicable on small car, motorcycles, scooter and commercial vehicles. This cutback on duty will be effective only till June 30, 2014.
