Bajaj could launch a couple more quarter-litre motorcycles in 2021

Avenger400 NS25

For 2020, Bajaj launched the new CT 100 KS, Chetak e-scooter, Pulsar 125 drum-brake variant and the Dominar 250. The brand also made its existing line up of motorcycle BS6 compliant. In 2021, Bajaj will add a few new names to its motorcycle range and here’s what we expect:

Pulsar NS 250:

The Bajaj Dominar 250 is a sports tourer for an easy riding experience. But, for a brand built on performance bikes i.e. Pulsar, Bajaj should have a new Pulsar NS 250 to further the brand. If the NS250 makes it to life, it will borrow the engine from its 250cc Austrian sibling with a minuscule alteration in the performance figures.

250cc ADV:

The KTM 250 Adventure is already out in the market. With the Bajaj-KTM tie-up, Bajaj has the access to all the necessary R&D required to build a 250cc adventure-tourer bike. But we are yet to see how the KTM 250 Adventure sales numbers turn out and that will be one of the decisive factors for Bajaj’s adventure motorcycle. Furthermore, if it does happen, Bajaj will source the engine from KTM. The expected price will be comparatively lower than that of KTM 250 Adventure as is the case with most Bajaj motorcycles.

Avenger 400:

Slow but steadily, the larger capacity bikes are being more accepted and being used than earlier, be it as a commuter or for the weekends. Moreover, long-distance motorcycle touring has now become a thing and Bajaj’s Avenger 400 can likely suffice the need. The Avenger range has been around for a long time and it makes sense to have a bigger engine slapped on to it. Again, if Bajaj goes ahead with the idea, the Avenger 400 will have the Dominar 400’s engine with a different state of tune for even more efficiency and bumped up mid-range torque.
