The Bajaj Platina Now Costs Rs 8,000 Less highlights

On its Pulsar range, Bajaj might get away with the sort of price hikes it has implemented recently, but the 100cc commuter segment is a far more price-sensitive affair. The Platina 100 is Bajaj’s ‘premium’ 100cc commuter, and to make it that much more accessible, the company has rolled out a new kick start (KS) variant. Doing away with an electric starter has allowed Bajaj to shave a good Rs 8,237 off the bike’s price, meaning the KS variant sells for just Rs 51,667 (ex-showroom), making it the entry-level offering in the Platina range.

Like the electric start variants, the KS features an LED DRL above the headlight. To help tell the KS apart, Bajaj has thrown in hand guards, just in case CS Santosh decides to end his association with that other Indian motorcycling behemoth. On the engine front, the KS is powered by the same 102cc DTS-i motor as the other variants, producing 7.9PS and 8.3Nm. A comparable rival is the Hero HF Deluxe in its Kick Start Drum Brake Alloy Wheel variant which costs Rs 49,950 (ex-showroom). Full details are available in the press release below:
