The Ducati Monster SP has finally made its way to India! But at Rs 15.95 lakh (ex-showroom India), it has you wondering if you might as well splurge almost a lakh rupees more and get THE Suzuki Hayabusa instead, right? Well, let’s see what it packs before jumping onto such conclusions.

For starters, the bike is painted in this gorgeous MotoGP-inspired livery. The red hot paint scheme coupled with the golden inverted fork looks breathtaking. The fork and the monoshock are both from Ohlins and obviously fully adjustable, taking its versatility even higher.

While attacking the corners, the Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tyres will ensure there’s ample grip throughout. And that very sense of confidence and speed will be accompanied by a pair of Termignoni exhausts blasting down your ears as you pin the bike down a race track.

And if you end up entering the corner a bit too hot, the Ducati Panigale V4-derived Brembo Stylema calipers come to your rescue immediately! Other changes include a new riding mode: Wet. The mode complements the pre-existing Sport, Touring and Urban modes. The steering geometry has also been altered, going for a sharper setup for better agility.

Suddenly the SP doesn’t sound that bad does it? The price tag sure sounds unreasonable but put a couple of hot laps around a race track on the Monster SP and suddenly the Rs 15.95 lakh sticker will start to make a little sense, not to your mind, but to your heart. But then that’s what Ducatis have always been about: the riding experience.
