Ather Energy has confirmed its first mass-market family electric scooter, the Konarc. It is expected to be launched on August 29, 2026 targeting the heart of the family EV segment. Ather Energy is set to launch its new family-oriented electric scooter, the Konarc, during its Community Day event on August 29, 2026.

The Konarc is the first production model built on Ather’s new EL-01 platform. This versatile architecture is designed to support multiple electric scooter types, including sporty models and maxi-scooters, not just family-focused ones. The platform's flexibility also extends to its battery and charging systems, confirming support for an onboard charger and Charge Drive Control technology.

Spy shots reveal the production-ready Konarc stays close to the EL01 concept showcased at Ather Community Day 2025. The design is conventional and practical, featuring a handlebar-mounted headlight and a large LED DRL on the apron. For daily usability, it includes a wide, flat floorboard and minimalist body panels, prioritising function for family commuting. The overall look is clean and focused on mass-market appeal.

The scooter is built with a telescopic front fork for suspension. It rides on alloy wheels, with a larger 14-inch wheel at the front and a 12-inch wheel at the rear, a combination aimed at providing stability. Braking duties are handled by a front disc brake and a rear drum brake. The setup also includes Ather’s Advanced Electrical Braking System, which combines regenerative braking with the conventional system.

The EL-01 platform can accommodate battery packs ranging from 2 kWh to 5 kWh. The Konarc is expected to use a mid-sized battery pack from this range to balance cost and range. The swingarm-mounted motor is likely derived from the one used in the Ather 450X series. However, it will be tuned differently for smoother, more accessible performance suited for everyday city riding rather than outright acceleration.

Ather Energy is targeting an aggressive price point for the Konarc, with an expected ex-showroom range of Rs 1,00,000 to Rs 1,25,000. This pricing places it squarely against some of the most popular family electric scooters in India. Its direct competitors will include the Bajaj Chetak, TVS iQube, Ampere Nexus, and the Hero Vida VX2.
