Almost two months after unveiling the K-Light 250V in India, Keeway, a Chinese-owned Hungarian auto manufacturer, has finally introduced the V-twin cruiser in the market here. The motorcycle was unveiled in May 2022 alongside the Vieste 300 and Sixties 300i, a maxi- scooter and retro scooter, respectively.
The Keeway K-Light 250V retails at a price of Rs 2,89,000 for the Matte Blue colour, Rs 2,99,000 for the Matte Dark Grey colour and Rs 3,09,000 for the Matte Black colour variant (all prices are introductory and ex-showroom India).
The primary competitor of the Keeway K-Light 250V is the Bajaj Avenger 220 Cruise, which retails at Rs 1,37,805 (ex-showroom Delhi), costing less than half the Hungarian cruiser. Other, more powerful and less expensive alternatives include Royal Enfield Meteor 350 and Yezdi Roadster.
The Keeway K-Light 250V adopts a typical cruiser styling with a muscular fuel tank, drag-style handlebar and an overall low-slung design.
It is powered by a 249cc, V-Twin, air-cooled engine churning out a mediocre 18.96PS and 19Nm. It is also the only quarter-litre V-twin available in India. For example, the Bajaj Avenger 220 Cruise gets a 220cc, single-cylinder, air- and oil-cooled mill which produces slightly more power at 19.03PS and a little less torque of 17.55 Nm. The K-Light 250V gets a five-speed gearbox linked to a belt-drive, a segment-first for 250cc bikes.

In terms of features, the K-Light 250V gets a semi-digital instrument cluster with an integrated GPS unit that displays the real-time location of the cruiser. It also features remote engine cut-off, geo-fencing, ride records, speed limit, and a panic button that shares location information with two emergency contacts. Furthermore, it indicates basic data like a gear position indicator, trip meter and fuel gauge.
An introductory price tag of Rs 2.89 lakh is way too expensive for something that is essentially a 250cc cruiser, and packs less power than its rival which is much more affordable. That said, the K-Light 250V still stands out as an intriguing product with all that it has on offer. If you are on the lookout for a twin-cylinder bike, then the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 is the most affordable choice with better performance offered by its much bigger 648cc engine.
