The scooter was launched at an introductory price that was Rs 25,000 lower than the original cost for the first 10,000 customers.

Quick Highlights

  • Ultraviolette Tesseract has crossed 50,000 pre-bookings

  • It’s the first electric scooter from the Bengaluru-based EV startup

  • Is offered in 3 variants starting from Rs 1,45,000 (ex-showroom)

The Ultraviolette Tesseract electric scooter, which was recently launched, has now crossed 50,000 pre-bookings. This is the first electric scooter from the EV maker, and it was offered at a starting price of Rs 1,45,000 (ex-showroom), for the base Tesseract 3.5 variant.

However, for the first 10,000 units, the e-scooter was offered at an introductory price of Rs 1,20,000. After which the brand set price to Rs 1,30,000 for the next 50,000 units. Now that the scooter has crossed 50,000 pre-bookings, the price of Rs 1,30,000 will be valid till the next 10,000 units. All prices are ex-showroom rates.

Now, 50,000 pre-bookings is by no means a small number. To give you a perspective, this is close to 40% of Ather Energy’s sales of its entire lineup from April 2024 to January 2025. Of course, pre-bookings still mean a show of interest, and the actual sales figures may be different, when it happens. The deliveries of the e-scooter will start from the first quarter of 2026 whereas the final announcement of variant-wise pricing and more detailed specifications will happen in the last quarter of 2025.

Ultraviolette has a current production capacity of 30,000 units per year, and the brand plans to expand it to 1 lakh units a year. The EV maker has 14 dealerships across the country, so it will have to scale up considerably to meet the demand.

The Ultraviolette Tesseract is offered in 3 variants and here’s a brief breakdown of what each of them has to offer.

The Ultraviolette Tesseract comes with a claimed top speed of 125kmph (likely on the higher-end variants). The Tesseract rolls on 14-inch wheels at both ends, with a disc brake setup at the front and rear. For added safety, the scooter gets dual-channel ABS. It is the second electric scooter to get ABS after the TVS X.

What really sets the Ultraviolette Tesseract apart from the competition is the high amount of features it has on offer, including some segment-first ones. The e-scooter gets a first-of-its-kind dual dashcam setup at the front and rear, which works in tandem with onboard radars for an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS).

Along with this, the scooter also gets a haptic handlebar that vibrates to give collision warnings. Lastly, the scooter also features mirrors which display lane change alerts and also offer overtake alerts. All said and done, most of these fancy features may only be available in the top-end variant, and some may be even optional. We’ll get better clarity by the end of this year.

The Ultraviolette Tesseract will go up against other premium electric scooters in the market such as the Ola S1 Pro Plus and the Ather 450X.
