Quick Highlights

  • The TVS Apache RTX 300 design has been patented

  • Could be launched in the coming months

  • Will feature the new 299cc RT-XD4 engine

TVS Motor has patented the upcoming Apache RTX 300’s design. The bike will be the first adventure motorcycle from the Hosur-based manufacturer. It will also be the first bike to feature the recently unveiled RT-XD4 engine platform. Here’s a detailed breakdown of everything you need to know about the upcoming adventure bike in India.

The TVS Apache RTX 300 features a typical ADV-like design with the tall windscreen and a muscular-looking headlight section. It features a split-LED headlight setup which gives it a big adv-like appearance. Overall, the bike looks quite muscular and would definitely have a commanding road presence.

Powering the Apache RTX 300 will be the new RT-XD4 engine which is a new platform developed by TVS. It  is a 299cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine which outputs 35PS at 9,000rpm and 28.5Nm at 7,000rpm. We expect the engine to have a more linear torque delivery, which should suit its persona. The engine will likely also power the brand’s next-generation Apache RR (faired) and Apache RTR (naked) bikes as well.

In terms of underpinnings, the Apache RTX 300 features an inverted fork and monoshock setup. The bike should be a road-biased ADV, considering it seems to get a 19-inch front wheel and a 17-inch rear. The design patent reveals disc brakes at both ends. These should have dual-channel ABS with an option of switching off the rear wheel ABS.

Features-wise, we expect the bike to get a lot of the same riding aids as what we have seen on the TVS Apache RTR 310 and TVS Apache RR 310. It could include a traction control system, cruise control, and cornering ABS. Along with this, the bike could also offer switchable ABS at the rear, which will allow riders to turn-off ABS intervention at the rear. This will allow riders to lock up the rear, giving better control offroad.

The bike could be priced close to the Rs 2.50 lakh mark (ex-showroom), with a potential launch by mid-2025. It will go up against the likes of Suzuki V-Strom SX, the KTM 250 Adventure, and the Yezdi Adventure. Overall, the TVS Apache RTX 300 looks quite promising and would make for a really good road-biased ADV that can handle long-distance touring.
