This might just be the best year for mid-segment ADV motorcycle enthusiasts!

The adventure motorcycle segment has been trending globally -  the mid-size segment more so in India. The not-so-new Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 and the 2025 KTM 390 Adventure have created a hype that’s almost unmatched by any other ADV bike in India. But hot on their heels are some really interesting upcoming motorcycles, and here are 5 such ADV bikes launching in India in 2025.

TVS RTX 300

The TVS Apache RTX 300 has been in the works for quite some time now. We saw a glimpse of the ADV at Auto Expo 2025 and the bike has been spotted testing earlier. It will be a road-biased adventure motorcycle with a 19-inch front wheel and a 17-inch rear. The RTX 300 will be powered by the new 300cc RT-XD4 engine which TVS showcased at the 2024 MotoSoul event in Goa. The motorcycle is expected to be priced at around Rs 2.50 lakh (ex-showroom). Seeing how TVS has created some interesting motorcycles in recent times, we can expect the same from the RTX as well.

Hero XPulse 421

Hero recently filed a design patent for the upcoming XPulse 421 in India, it is expected to launch in mid-2025 and could be priced at around Rs 2.40 lakh (ex-showroom). It will most likely have a brand-new engine which could make close to 40PS and 40Nm. We expect it to be packed to the brim with features. The XPulse marque has carved a special following for itself over the years. We can hope the upcoming XPulse 421 won’t disappoint, both on and off the road.

CFMoto 450MT

The CFMoto is planning a comeback in India and their first weapon of choice will be the 450MT. It could launch in a few months from now. The ADV is powered by a 449cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine which makes 42PS and 42Nm. Worth noting is the fact that the bike has received some praise internationally. However, this time around CFMoto will have to scale up substantially to make an impact they hope in their second innings in India.

BMW F 450 GS

BMW Motorrad showcased the F 450 GS concept motorcycle at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Expo. The bike looks near-production ready and like a scaled-down version of the R 1300 GS. The ADV will be powered by an all-new parallel-twin engine producing 48PS. According to the manufacturer, the ADV’s kerb weight is close to the 175kg mark. If it is  the same for the production model, it will have one of the best power-to-weight ratios in the segment. Aimed to take on the KTM 390 Adventure, the bike is expected to debut in its production form at EICMA this year-end. India launch can be expected soon after.

Royal Enfield Himalayan 650

The Royal Enfield Himalayan 650 has been spotted testing and the bike looks quite exciting to say the least! It could be powered by the same 648cc parallel-twin engine as the Interceptor 650 but could make more power. The Himalayan 650 should be positioned above the Himalayan 450 since it would be more powerful. The bigger and upcoming Himalayan will most likely be a road-biased adventure motorcycle as the 650cc engine is quite heavy and will hamper the bike’s offroad capability. All said, there’s a slight possibility that it could get the upcoming twin-cylinder 750cc engine that RE is rumoured to be working on.

ZigSays

The mid-capacity ADV bike segment has been hot in India, and it's only going to get hotter, with fierce competition brewing up. This displacement makes perfect sense as it offers just about the right level of performance for our roads, and the genre is ideal for those who want a do-it-all bike. However, if you are as excited as us, and want to get one of these home (as and when they come), our only advice would be to not jump the gun, at least before test riding what you want.
