The SIAM (Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers) sales numbers for January 2026 reveal some interesting trends. Here is a look at the top five best-selling scooters in India.

The Honda Activa lineup includes the Activa 110 and the more powerful Activa 125. Together they continue to be the backbone of India’s scooter market. Known for their rock-solid reliability, fuss-free design, comfortable ride quality and dependable mileage, Activas remain a default choice for family buyers.
In the last month alone, Honda sold 2,71,924 units, marking a healthy Month-on-Month (MoM) growth of 33.21%. But the more shocking news is that the year-on-year (YoY) sales number jumped by an insane 38.62%. It could be due to the fact that customers may have delayed their purchase from December 2025 to January 2026 in favour of the new model year. Even then, this massive jump is still really impressive.

The TVS’ Jupiter range consists of the Jupiter 110 and Jupiter 125. Even though they are among the most feature-packed, practical scooters in their respective segment, they are nowhere nearly as close to the Activa’s dominance. That said, they’re doing objectively well, and are far ahead of the third contender. The Jupiter family registered a modest MoM growth of 7.42%, while YoY numbers also moved up by 16.89%, showing steady demand across both variants.

The Suzuki Access 125 continues to be one of the strongest players in the 125cc scooter space. Its solid build quality, smooth, yet punchy engine and proven reliability make it a long-time favourite. While January saw a negligible MoM dip of 0.8% in sales, the scooter still posted a YoY growth of 21%, which points to consistent long-term demand for this Suzuki scooter. Expect the sales numbers to get even better in February as the brand launched the single-channel ABS variants, making it the most well-rounded family 125cc scooter in India.

This is where things get really interesting. The TVS iQube opened the new year with a bang, clocking a staggering 37,520 units! This clearly proves that EVs are no longer niche, and have intruded well into the conventional scooter sales. In fact, it managed to outsell the 5th best-seller in this list, the TVS Ntorq 125!
The iQube’s formula is simple: a neutral design, practical, usable features, reasonable range, and sensible variant-lineup along with an equally sensible price tag. These aspects have clearly done wonders for TVS. Another interesting fact is that the iQube is the best-selling electric scooter in India in January, followed by the Bajaj Chetak, which tallied 28,216 units.

Even though the TVS Ntorq 125 was not as popular as the iQube in January, it still managed to achieve an objectively healthy figure of 36,596 units. In fact, this is a commendable 25.7%, MoM sales jump, and then equally impressive 34.9% YoY improvement. The Ntorq 125 is one of the most value for money sporty 125cc scooters in India. It's got the performance as well as features to back up the sporty looks.
