Skoda India has just launched the Slavia 1-litre TSI, with prices ranging between Rs 10.69 lakh and Rs 15.39 lakh (ex-showroom). Prices of the more powerful 1.5-litre TSI, limited to the top-spec Style, will be announced on March 03. However, going by the range topping 1-litre TSI Style, which is Rs 90,000 more affordable than the similar Kushaq’s Style variant, we expect the 1.5-litre TSI to be cheaper by the same difference.
Here’s our take on the Slavia 1.5-litre TSI pricing:
Kushaq 1.5-litre TSI Style |
Slavia 1.5-litre TSI Style Expected Price |
Difference |
|
MT |
Rs 16.49 lakh |
Rs 15.59 lakh |
Rs 90,000 |
DCT |
Rs 18.19 lakh |
Rs 17.29 lakh |
Rs 90,000 |
These expected prices are way over what customers are normally used to seeing in this segment. For reference, the Slavia 1-litre TSI costs Rs 13.99 lakh for the manual and Rs 15.39 lakh for the AT, and the 1.5-litre TSI might command a premium of up to around Rs 1.9 lakh. But it does fill the large void that is left between the top-spec Slavia Style 1-litre TSI AT (Rs 15.39 lakh) and the next Skoda sedan, the base-spec Octavia Style (Rs 26.29 lakh).
Naturally, the extra price should give you a better driving experience as the 1.5-litre TSI engine develops class leading 150PS and 250Nm. It also gets an extra cylinder over the 1-litre three-cylinder motor, and the party piece is the cylinder deactivation tech which shuts down two cylinders under light load for aiding fuel efficiency.

Like the Kushaq, you get the option to choose between a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic. But is it really worth the extra dough for the performance on tap? Alan has tested the Kushaq 1-litre and 1.5-litre TSI over a series of challenges and his report should give you a context.
Apart from the change in heart, there won’t be any changes to the styling or features. Our detailed launch story will get you up to speed with all the details.
The Slavia locks horns with the Honda City, Hyundai Verna, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, and the upcoming Volkswagen Virtus.
