It looks rugged, light and a lot of fun

Some truly exciting things are cooking up at Royal Enfield and one of them – the Royal Enfield Scrambler 650 – has been spied once again. This time, the instrument console of the bike has been spied, and it looks an awful lot like the one featured on the upcoming Himalayan 450.

As you can see in the above picture, the Scrambler 650 features a large circular fully digital console. It is likely to be the same one as the upcoming ADV, which should also be the most premium one on the bikemaker’s portfolio.

While the scrambler does take some design inspirations from the Interceptor 650, it still does look distinct and flaunts some serious scrambler hardware – a ribbed seat, raised handlebar, oval side panels and spoked rims along with a teardrop-shaped fuel tank and two-in-one exhaust setup. But the most important scrambler bit has to be the chunky dual-purpose tyres.

In a previous spy shot, we had reported that the Scrambler 650 will get made-in-India tyres from MRF, and you can check out the details for the same here.

Another interesting bit to notice in the new spy shots is the bullet-shaped LED turn indicators. All the earlier spy shots of the bike flaunted circular LED turn indicators. So could these ones be accessories? We’ll find out soon enough.

The Scrambler 650 will likely be powered by the same 648cc parallel-twin engine as the Interceptor 650, Continental GT 650 and Super Meteor 650. It is expected to make the same output figures – 47.6PS and 52Nm.

Royal Enfield had trademarked the name Interceptor Bear 650, and the upcoming Scrambler could come bearing this name. Expect the bike to launch sometime around April 2024, with a price tag of Rs 3.5 lakh (ex-showroom).
