Royal Enfield launched the Bear 650, a scrambler based on the Interceptor 650, in November last year. While the bike is more capable than its sibling at going off-road, it is nowhere close to actually taking part in a fully-fledged race. Fuel Motorcycles, a workshop based out of Barcelona, sought to change things for the good and created an absolute beast of a machine: the Fuel Fury 650. That definitely sounds like the name of a motorcycle Mad Max would have, doesn’t it?
Just like most modified Royal Enfield bikes that carry a piece of history in some way or the other, this one too is steeped in stories of the past. The design theme is based on the 1960s Royal Enfield Fury 500, a bike which American racer Eddie Mulder raced in the Big Bear Run. Be it the eye-catching red and white colour scheme, the custom dual-LED headlight or the slim tail section, the Fuel Fury 650 looks absolutely gorgeous in our opinion. It gets all new footpegs, bashplate, handguards, grips and a custom-free flow exhaust, which not only adds to the aesthetics but also allows the bike to breathe better. To complement the design ethos of the bike, it also gets an “In Gut We Trust” logo on the fuel tank of the bike.
The Fuel Fury 650 continues to be powered by the same 648cc parallel-twin engine, which makes 47PS and 56.5Nm as the Bear 650. But the hardware components have been changed to make the bike even more capable. Custom fully-adjustable front and rear suspension, 21-inch front and 17-inch rear cross-spoked tubeless wheels fitted with Mitas off-road-oriented tyres, make the Fuel Fury 650 a bike which is ready to tackle dunes like no other Royal Enfield yet.
On the tech front, the TFT console is replaced by a rally tower kitted with a GPS-based navigation setup, which is usually seen on modern-day rally bikes.
Overall, the Fuel Fury 650 definitely seems rally-ready, and might be the best off-road-oriented custom Royal Enfield bike we have seen yet, at least until the upcoming Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 Rally spied testing earlier, comes into the picture.
