Hero has trademarked a design patent for the upcoming XPulse 421 in India and it reveals some interesting new details about the motorcycle.

Design

The trademarked design reveals some interesting new details about the motorcycle. The overall look of the motorcycle is quite different when compared to the upcoming XPulse 210 and the XPulse 200 4V. The headlight design is completely different and is a much angular one along with the overall stance of the motorcycle. The XPulse 421 looks quite muscular thanks to the aggressive tank extensions and the sculpted side panels. While the exhaust is not visible from the patent image, we expect it to be an upswept unit from the drawing images which Hero unveiled at EICMA 2024. The patented image also reveals that the motorcycle will come with additional accessories such as knuckle guards, a rear rack, and a sump guard.

Engine and Underpinnings

The upcoming Hero XPulse 421 will most-likely get a new 421cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that will make about 40PS and 40Nm. This will make the XPulse 421 a much more capable motorcycle for the highways as the biggest problem the XPulse 200 riders have is its rather slow highway speeds. The bike features a large fuel tank with an expected capacity of around 15 litres. The suspension setup will feature a long-travel upside down fork, and a monoshock mounted on 21-inch front and 18-inch rear spoke wheels, as well as front and rear petal rotors.

Features

We expect Hero to go all out in terms of features in the upcoming XPulse 421. Expected features list includes, a TFT screen, all-LED lighting, riding modes, traction control, dual-channel ABS which can be switched off for the rear wheel, smartphone connectivity and much more. All of this should keep at par with its rivals, and should make it a worthy competitor.

Expected Price, Launch Date and Rivals

We expect the upcoming Hero XPulse 421 to be priced around Rs 2.40 lakh (ex-showroom) and to be launched sometime around mid 2025. Once launched, the Xpulse 421 will go against the likes of Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, KTM 390 Adventure S and the upcoming TVS Apache RTX 300.
