Hero XPulse 421

Hero has filed a design trademark for the upcoming Xpulse 421 and here’s what we know from it. An upcoming Hero XPulse based on the Harley-Davidson X440’s platform has been spotted testing.

While the test mule features a fully digital display, the bike could get features like Bluetooth connectivity, USB charging, switchable ABS and fully adjustable suspension, most of which are already offered with the XPulse 200. There might also be features like traction control and cornering ABS, as the test mule was seen with a four-way switch cube on the left side switchgear.

Going by the spy shots, the bike will probably be offered in two variants: a road-focused variant and an off-road-focused one, similar to what the company did with the XPulse 200 and XPulse 200T. The upcoming Hero XPulse 400 will probably get a 421cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that will make about 40PS and 40Nm. The bike features a large fuel tank, with an expected capacity of over 15 litres. Further complimenting its touring-friendly nature will be a suspension setup which comprises a long-travel upside down fork, and monoshock, as well as front and rear petal rotors.

Once here, the XPulse 400 will take the fight to the upcoming KTM 390 Adventure , TVS Apache RTX 300 and the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450. It is expected to be launched by mid-2025 and the price tag is likely to be around the Rs 2.4 lakh (ex-showroom) mark.

Design: The test bike was seen with a tall windscreen, handguards, a metal bash plate, and a luggage rack. The bike also had a side-swept exhaust, a long sculpted seat, and a large fuel tank.
