Moto2 Edition also makes a comeback, but we wish Triumph just brought back the OG Daytona

Triumph Street Triple 765 RX

Triumph is dialing up the excitement for 2026 with the unveiling of two headline-grabbing editions of its Street Triple 765 – the RX and Moto2 Edition. These new models build on Triumph’s proven 765cc triple platform, and these are the most performance oriented versions till date.

The 765 RX is something of a homecoming for Triumph’s ‘RX’ nameplate, which originally surfaced on the 675 RX back in 2015 as a more aggressive, track-minded version of the Street Triple. The RX is the ‘ultimate’ track-focused variant of the 765…if you forgot that the Daytona 765 Moto2 existed (please bring it back). It has sharper geometry, more premium components, and it’s only on sale for one year.

The RX comes in matt aluminium silver bodywork, contrasted with a Diablo Red subframe and matching wheels – a clear nod to the original Street Triple RX lineage. There’s also a precision-machined yoke, a laser-etched ‘RX’ logo on the silencer, and a custom RX-branded seat to underline the special-edition pedigree.

The Triumph Street Triple 765 Moto2 Edition is an outright homage to its years at the heart of Moto2 racing – and it looks every bit the part. Where the RX uses aggressive colour pops and premium components, the Moto2 Edition doubles down on exclusivity with carbon-fibre everything: side panels, front mudguard, belly pan, and even a carbon silencer end cap.

Available in Mineral Grey or Crystal White, both contrasted with a Triumph Performance Yellow rear subframe and matching accent stripe on the rear wheel. Each bike also gets a numbered billet-machined top yoke, reminding buyers that only 1,000 units of this Moto2 Edition exist – we bet collectors are going to lap it up.

The riding position of the Moto2 Edition is even more aggressive than the RX thanks to its track-inspired clip-ons, a dimpled Moto2 seat for increased grip, and a clear-lens tail light to complete the race look. It’s every bit as track-ready – but the Moto2 adds that sense of being a true collector’s machine, the closest you can get to a Moto2 bike with a number plate…and without the fairing.

On the engine front, both are powered by the same 765cc inline-three that Triumph supplies to the Moto2 World Championship – a rev-happy unit rated for 130PS at 12,000rpm and 80Nm at 9,500rpm. The exhaust is a stainless 3-into-1 header with a single silencer, and there’s a slip-and-assist clutch plus a 6-speed gearbox.

The RX borrows from the Moto2 and ‘race-derived’ components. Both editions get a fully adjustable Öhlins NIX30 upside-down fork (compression, rebound, and preload adjustment – with 115mm of travel). And, at the rear is an  Öhlins STX40 reservoir shock. Clip-on handlebars swap in for the standard RS setup, moving the riding position forward and lower – ‘for sharper control, especially under hard braking.’ Both get the very sticky Pirelli Supercorsa SP V3 tyres.

Braking is handled by twin front 310mm floating discs with Brembo Stylema calipers, while the rear uses a 220mm single disc. The wet weight comes in at 188kg with its 15-litre tank, and the seat height is 839mm – making it light and firm in its track-bred ambition.

In terms of tech, both are loaded: there’s a full-colour 5-inch TFT display, cornering ABS, an ABS track mode, optimized traction control, and Triumph Shift Assist for clutchless shifting. The Moto2 gets its own special TFT startup animation. The RX is clearly aimed at riders who’ve loved the RS but want something sharper, more track-oriented, yet still usable on the street – and by limiting it to one year, Triumph gives it a little halo effect.

Even Triumph’s Chief Product Officer (CPO), Steve Sargent said: ‘demand for high-spec naked bikes that are also track-capable is rising, and this RX is their answer.’ But, if Triumph is going to such lengths to make a naked bike properly track-worthy, it might as well slap on a fairing and call it a Day(tona), don’t you think?
