Q. I am looking for an automatic vehicle mostly for city drive with occasional short trips. My budget is 7.5 lakhs. I am confused between Tiago XZA plus (Amt) and Grand i10 Nios Magna AMT. My priorities are smooth automatic transmission, safety and maintenance. Please suggest.

Q. I am planning to get my first car next year in January during festive season and till then gathering all possible info I can about the best car that suits me and my budget is of maximum 8 lakh. I recently had a closer look at Maruti Suzuki WagonR 2019 (ZXI AGS 1.2 Petrol). I didn't not do a test drive but when I sat inside the car I felt there's less legroom for me when I am at the rear seat or at driver seat. My height is roughly 6ft and I am bit healthy and all my family members are tall and healthy. I think WagonR would be little uncomfortable when taking it out for long drives. Dealer suggested to go for Maruti Swift VXI AMT model and personalize it as per the top end variant ZXI AMT as I am looking to get some features that are in ZXI AMT variant. I also compared Tata Tiago top end variant in AMT which falls in my budget, but it doesn't comes in BS6 yet, don't know about next year and as mentioned on zigwheels forum Tata cars might still not be reliable for long term. After comparing the on road prices of both Swift VXI AMT and ZXI AMT I think the total cost would go above my budget by atleast a lakh rupees if I go for VXI AMT and get it customized as per ZXI variant or even if I opt for ZXI AMT. If by this year end Tata Tiago comes in BS6 and fits into my budget and if the question of reliability and maintenance is sorted then would be happy top go for Tiago AMT in January. As there's still 2-3 months for my purchase I am really confused and need some genuine advice on this as its going to be my first car and I want to make sure I tick all the major boxes.

    The driving experience of my tata tiago is awesome.It has a powerful 1200cc engine which is much efficient to drive smoothly at this price segment.It's service costs around 9000-10000rs after every 10000 km.Being it have 1200cc engine, It have powerful pickup.As all know that, Tata is known for its build quality, It comes in greater safety.Because the built quality of tata tiago is very strong.

  • Safest Car Ever

    I own a Tata Tiago XZ petrol variant. It's my first car and I was looking for a safe and family car. After doing all research I decided to go for Tiago. It's a safe car and it has solid built quality. It has a very good grip on roads, especially on highways, The faster you go the more it is stable and you will enjoy the drive with confidence. It comes with all good safety features even the base model also has all the safety measurements. ABS, EBD, Airbags, and Tata's tough steel make it a safe choice and the 1200 cc engine gives it a strong heart. There is vibration on the dashboard but that is bearable as it has a very good music system powered by Harman. AC is also good, I live in Jaipur where the temperature goes up to 42-45 degrees in summer, and the AC of Tiago works perfectly. In summary, I would recommend this to everyone who is looking for a safe drive on Indian roads.
