Age old prejudices and half baked information has ensured that vast majority of buyers opt for petrol engines. However the truth may surprise you.I own a "crdi" ( common rail diesel injection ) equiped Grandi10 for last 4.1/2 years ever since it's launch and I am all praise for it. Reasons are many. It is easier to drive in bumper to bumper traffic. It sips negligible fuel. It has 50% more pulling power than it's petrol counterpart. It is as refined and more silent than most engines I have come across. Even though my running is very low, I have not had any issues nor any regrets. Infact Hyundai diesel engines are probably the industry's best kept secret. If you can spend 1 lakh more on purchase, just go for it. You will love it.

Diesel engine in the i10 grand is state of the art. Meaning it is very silent and smooth and makes others think it is a petrol engine. However the advantage is torque (pulling power) which is 50% more than the petrol engine. Also higher is the economy because unlike the petrol engine, when you are stuck in traffic, it is running practically on pure air. If you can afford the 1 lac extra initial cost, you end up with a better car,
