Harley-Davidson has just announced Peter MacKenzie taking over the role of Managing Director for its India operations. He will be replacing Vikram Pawah who has joined BMW Motorrad as President, India operations. MacKenzie has assumed this role in addition to his current role as Managing Director of Harley-Davidson, Greater China. He will continue to be based in Shanghai, China and will travel to India as required. He will be supported by Manish Agarwal, Country Manager, Harley-Davidson India, who will oversee day-to-day operations.
MacKenzie will be heading Harley-Davidson’s India team responsible for sales, dealer network management, marketing, service, and operations to expand the company’s presence in the country. He joined the Harley-Davidson group in 2010 and has over 25 years of business development experience in the automotive industry.
Commenting on the occasion, Marc McAllister, Vice President and Managing Director for Harley-Davidson International markets said, “India is a strategic market for us in line with our company strategy to build the next generation of Harley-Davidson riders globally. I am confident that MacKenzie will provide strong leadership to the team to grow the reach and impact of our brand, as we expand our dealership network in the country to support our business and give loyal and new customers greater access to our brand,”
Before joining the Harley-Davidson group in 2010, MacKenzie used to lead the Chrysler group as Managing Director, South East Asia operations.
