New Honda 125cc motorcycle caught testing

Spy pictures of a new Honda motorcycle undergoing testing has emerged on the internet. The bike in question looks like an upcoming Honda 125cc motorcycle and the pictures of the same were posted by Gaadiwaadi.com. It s expected that the new Honda Motorcycle will be a sportier 125cc offering and will be launched under the Dream series of motorcycles. It is highly unlikely that Honda will replace the CB Shine with the new 125cc motorcycle given the fact that it’s the highest selling motorcycle for Honda in our market. Although the upcoming Honda motorcycle was heavily camouflaged one can make out that the design language of the motorcycle is sporty and edgy. The bikini fairing, sharply sculpted fuel tank alongwith tank extensions signify its sportier credentials. Honda had recently announced that it will be launching seven new motorcycles in our two-wheeler market and the above 125cc motorcycle seems to be a part of this strategy. It is speculated that the new 125cc motorcycle will be positioned below the Honda CB Shine as an entry-level 125cc offering and will be christened under the Dream moniker signifying its commuter DNA. 

Providing firepower to the new Honda 125cc motorcycle will be the same powerplant as seen on the Honda CB Shine. The 125cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder motor churns out 10.6PS of maximum power and 10.5Nm of peak torque. The four-speed constant mesh gearbox will do duty on the new motorcycle as seen on the Honda CB Shine. The 125cc motor was recently updated with the fuel efficiency improving HET. Honda’s sales figure has been increasing on a consistent basis as it sets its eyes on becoming the country’s largest two-wheeler manufacturer by overhauling Hero MotoCorp from the top. For this purpose it needs a push from its motorcycle department as currently scooters are contributing for majority of its sales. The new Honda 125cc commuter motorcycle will be a key offering for Honda in its pursuit of hiking its sales figure. The new Honda 125cc motorcycle is expected to be launched by the festive season and will be priced around Rs 52,000. Watch this space for more updates.
